What's the best way to get Kasty-cube 442 onto a rooted U30GT2?

I'm a complete newbie to all of this. I started by rooting the tablet a year ago, done online manually by Have spent the year getting to know its new capabilities. Now I've been trying to get Kasty-cube's 442 onto it, but it's not working out. I've followed all the instructions found in the post including the advice of others. In recovery mode, the batch tool doesn't see the tablet at all. Number 1 box stays blank. The driver is installed and the firmware loaded ready to go.

One contributor advised to switch the tablet back on after going into recovery mode. So I tried it and it went on to boot normally. The batch tool box turned pink. I thought I'd won! I hit the switch button but no green box. It told me I had no device connected! I thought that's what the pink box confirmed.

So I've come to the conclusion that since my tablet is already rooted, there must be a different method for flashing a new ROM. Here are the issues/errors that thwarted me.

  •  Holding power and vol+ brings up the Android bot on its back. Holding power again briefly is supposed to bring up recovery menu. Screen goes black.
  •  When connecting the tablet to the PC, 'found new hardware' didn't show. Device manager showed 'Android device interface' installed correctly, but an entry in 'software devices' and 'usb controllers' had warnings that drivers were not installed. This was due to 'driver descriptions being incorrect' in both cases. Updating the drivers with those in the Rockchip tool folder directly didn't work either.

I've been all round the forums all day with nothing to show in the end. So I really hope someone can shine a bright clear light for me!

PS> I'm impressed with the amount of work people put into this site.
