I've been searching for this topic all over and I'm surprised that this issue has not been raised yet (as far as I can tell). When you look at the All Apps settings or if you explore into the system/app folder, you'll notice that the Contacts.apk and Contacts Provider.apk apps are missing.
This creates a very undesirable effect: if you have a google/gmail account, when you look at that user in Settings, there is no check-box to sync Contacts. It also means that if you want to send an email using the Gmail app, you have to type the entire email address from memory. Even if you send two emails in a row to the same recipient, you will have to type the address in its entirety the second time around.
I have 7 other different models of Android tablets here and they all have these system components present and I'm able to sync my Contacts. I also get auto-completion in the To field when sending emails.
I installed GO Contacts EX on the miniCube and it will fail to create a single contact manually.
I'm totally baffled as to why Cube would have omitted these components (but added a bunch of Chinese bloatware) that are at the base of the Android system.
I tried to copy the two missing apk from another tablet over to the mini cube but it fails to install.
So, do I just have a bad firmware version installed on these tablets (I have a bunch of minis) or does anyone else have the same situation on their miniCube tablets?
Any info that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
