as this is my first post, let introduce my self as a fully satisified CUBE U30-GT user.
I have followed your indications and the CrewRKtablets page and now my cube U30 GT H is fully updated to 4.2.2.
The only problem is that I can not use multiple user profile, when I try to add a new user the settings process force closes. Have any of you experienced the same problem?. I have another RK30 based tablet which I have also updated and there it works like a charm, but in cube I can not make it working. Any idea would be apreciated.
Thanks to cappybob and rest of members for their help.
Hi Cappy. Successfully updated to 4.2.2. A little laggy but I guess I'm happy! Thanks for all the information.
I have a couple questions though so I hope you could answer them.
With the screen rotation, it goes blank is there a fix for that?
Also, whenever I exit the screen that displays all the apps, a launcher comes up asking me if I would like to use nova launcher or another option which has the android logo, which should I choose?
Daniel, Glad to see you're running 4.2.2. I prefer the Nova launcher as a choice. As far as the lag on screen orientation, I thought I saw an article that said it is an inconvenience, so not likely fixable at this time. XDA web site might have been where I saw this. Netlars and Oma7144 on this forum are the gentlemen you should PM about issues. They are really great at responding to problems. With the release of THREE android systems in like 9mos, I think they are now starting to focus on 4.4 KitKat with the possible forgetting android 4.3 except for a Possible 4.3 (CM10.2). So I know they have been busy.
Ah fair enough. Do you think support for the U30GT-H model will include 4.3 and 4.4 ?
Also, what are you running on your Cube tablet at the moment?
And do you know much about this 4.2.2 version ?
Running 1.3.2 Cm10.1, changing to 1.3.3 CM10.1 later this week after I try my new Kali_Linux build, to see if it will work. The 51Cube was the pipoM-1 build which I believe was talked about from RKCrew team, before they came out with their build based on nexus. (Close on Hardware, why used as base build). Me I just play with OS's. I think I will try this Pipo build to see what it does.
The latest build from the RKCrew for Cm10.1 v1.3.3 will be my favorite once loaded, just knowing how these guys work even though not even loaded yet.
Latter, will drop a line after running the PipoM-1 derivative.
Sweet. Thanks! Is there an easy way to boot into cwn instead of going through the whole process ? Like once I have ROM running, can I go into cwn to install these fixes?
Also I currently have this ROM running: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?p=2315
And its awesome! Runs smooth, no issue with changing the screen orientation, just the darn bluetooth doesn't want to work !
Also, with all these ROM's will they work on a Cube U30GT ? not the H version ?
Daniel, CWM entry on a start up with the power and up volume button pushed. I have always had to pump the volume button and power after boot image to get into CWM. Might have to search sd files to find your zips, might not be listed as external-sd. As far as I know only the proper Kernel Image is needed for each type of cube, with the exception of the change to RK31xx chips, then you will need the rk31 programs. As far as Bluetooth heard??? only works with dongle Bluetooth???. Read a lot and am an old man now and not as sharp in the memory anymore.
Ah well in regards to bluetooth I have a U30GT which picks up my iPhone with Bluetooth on. But the U30GT-H with the RK30 Genio - ASOP 4.2.2 build 3.3 doesnt work.
ok so just power on the device with volume pressed up should boot into CWN ?
Also do you know if android 4.4 or 4.3 is any chance of being deveoped?
Daniel do not know much of anything about Bluetooth, except preJellyBean had some work arounds for ad-hocs. The CWM is a two button process at the same time, power and up button with a release and push of both buttons at boot image. (I have always at boot image had to pump on and off both buttons)???????????Never have read the CWM instructions. As far as development 4.3 is a cmod 10.2 which is there for recompiling, but I have heard??? that too many new flavors to develop so it has been unofficial that KitKat will be pursued by most developers????? So 4.3 and or 4.4 will be a choice, though 4.4 is to be less ram and memory hungry and will be kind of all compatible.
Also there is another section in Arctablet News which you can go to. Go to forums at top of page tic and then procede to bottom of page to the RKCrewTablet area and there is much more coverage on problems and solutions by the team members.
Just recovered my semi-dead U30GT with this ROM. I'm pretty happy there is working 4.2 ROM for our device, but for me it looks a little lagy. It is still OK for everyday uses. But as I see next version is already out, so I will give it a try.
Unfortunately I flashed the stock kernel instead of the tuned "master" kernel. Any way to flash it without flashtool, with CWM?
Big thanks for the infos btw. And I'm very excited about 4.4 coming to our old tablet!
