Hello everyone.

I reckon that not many people will be lurking around these forums anymore. The u30GT is now quite old.

But still, I was wondering. Is it possible to change the internal motherboard with a newer one, say with a rk3188 or something and have an upgraded tablet, with all that come with the mobo, cpu, ram chips, flash chips, OS, etc?

Keeping the screen and batteries, which should be quite expensive for a 10.1 tablet, could save a lot of money, no?

So what do you guys think/know?

If it doesn't exist, maybe a company could think of creating some such boards for older tablets?

thanks for your time.

 it would'nt be cost effective.

The u30gt-h cube's perform quite well though, but a newer android would breathe fresh life into them Smile

Cost effective on the part of the manufacturer or the end consumer?

I guess that a new board with a 3188 wouldn't cost more than 50 euros. Much cheaper than getting a whole new tablet, isn't it?

It would be good to try of course, if a new board was cheap enough? All depends on how much trouble you're prepared to go to? I wonder if you could get a 3188 with a broken screen cheaply?
