Hi all, just a simple question :-)

I have a Cube U30GT-H with 1.06 customized firmware and a lot of apps installed on it.

Would like to upgrade to 1.10 firmware but will like to have all my customized firmware ready after upgrade. Is there a way to do such a thing or avery kind of update/upgrade really wipes everything?

Thank you verry much.

The installed flash player isn't working for me, I've downloaded a new flashplayer.apk, however it won't install as the old one is still installed, and when I try and uninstalll it, it fails to uninstall, any ideas?  I also don't see a folder called system/app could that be a problem preventing uninstall?

You need a special file manager application that is able to navigate up to the root of the device, usually the ones that ship with the devices are limited to /storage path.

You can try Root Explorer or ES File Explorer in Google Play.

Hmm, works with the standard web browser, but not Chrome, any reason why that would be?

Sorry not entirely sure, we're using the same firmware... What do you see when it doesn't work in Chrome?

You could always try this if you haven't already --> http://www.androidcentral.com/how-manually-install-flash-your-android-device

The URL to Adobe Flash Player Downloader is broken in that link, I believe the link below is correct.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ampelement.adobeflashdownloader&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5hbXBlbGVtZW50LmFkb2JlZmxhc2hkb3dubG9hZGVyIl0.

The alternative is to try reapplying the firmware again, but I'd fully understand if you didn't want to.

3 more last thoughts, have you disabledd "Force GPU rendering"? or you could try turning on the "Enable Tracing" option in Settings.

You could also try "adb shell cat /proc/kmsg" to see if it kicks out anything meaningful in the equivalent of the Unix /var/messages

I'm having the same problem as he mentioned above. Flash isn't working in Chrome and the stock browser as well. After I upgraded to this firmware, flash was already installed but it did not work so I deleted it from /system/apps and added another flashplayer.apk. Still doesn't work.

I also can't uninstall it, I can only disable it. Any ideas?

Adobe Flash isn't supported on Google Chrome Mobile.

https://developers.google.com/chrome/mobile/docs/faq

What version of Flash is supported on Chrome for Android?Chrome for Android will not be supporting Flash. As you may have seen in November, 2011, Adobe announced it has stopped investing in Flash for mobile browsing. Google has long been committed to making the web platform more powerful through open web technologies like HTML5 and is working with Adobe and other partners to further advance the web standard.

I figured. Any idea why I can't get flash to work on the stock browser?

I already tried to do what you mentioned. I also stated it above. Even though I added it to /system/apps, I can't install it because it seems it's already installed but I'm not sure if it is installed correctly. When I try to play a video on YouTube via the stock browser, it tells me I need flash player.

When I try installing from /system/apps, a popup that comes up says "Replace app?" then it says "This is a system app. All your previous user data will be saved." After I click OK, it says "App not installed."
