I recommend that you completely reflash a firmware (either custom or stock) using Rockchip Flasher (Rockchip Batch Tool 1.5)
Use the Restore button rather than Upgrade to make sure the device gets properly erased before flashing.

Do NOT use the Restore option when changing the Firmware, this is being posted on some forums as a mistake.
Even Cube state to use Update.

I recommended to use the Restore button in cases where the system was not stable following a firmware update.
I don't see why it is reported as a mistake, what Restore button does over Upgrade is it just does a partial formatting of the tablet.

Hi all, i'm tryiong to update my U30GT-H.. and have some problems about hot to Upgrade. i downloaded Rockchip Flasher .. than.. can you post a step by step information on how to upgrade to Jb?..

I tried to install kasty-cube_u30gt_h-41-106-rooted.zip using Rockchip Batch Tool 1.5 on my U30GT-H with latest firmware installed on.
After connecting tablet to pc, and pressing Vol+/Power, it recognize tablet and Connected Device "Box 1" became green.
Pressed Upgrade...during process, Box 1 orange/brown flashing, but then showed an error Download IDB Fail. When process ended, it showed Upgrade Done Success<0> Fail<1>.
I disconnected tablet and pressed Power button, but nothing...I bricked it. Also can't power it in recovery mode, so I sent it back to China.
When I'll receive a new one, how can I have Root permissions without changing firmware installed and WITHOUT bricking it again ?

Same issue I had as mentioned above.
I received my replacement Cube a couple days ago and have been using it without trying to upgrade the firmware for now because it seems like it is so easy to brick it.
I know there is a way to reset it but I still don't want to have to disassemble the tablet.

Use a good USB cable this is the one that I am using has a long uUSB plug and does not fall out came with my Motorola
cell phone but Google has stacks of links.
Cube states not to allow the USB cable to come disconnected and all the post I have read about bricking was they use the bad cable that comes with the Cube.

Hi all,
Can someone please post a guide on how to flash these devices? (especially for noobs like me)
So far from reading numerous threads, I understand you need to download the Rockchip flasher, as well as the new firmware in this case the 4.1 jellybean but what is the next step?? It would be very helpful so people dont Brick or stuff their devices up.
1 - connect usb cable from PC to Cube
2 - press the volume up and power key (update or restore)
3 - ????
4 - ??
5 - ???
