Well it does not boot and does not seem to charge anymore.I suspect a faulty charger, it made bad noises since the beginning and I'm pretty sure it caused a short circuit in the tablet charge connector. So my Cube U30GT-H isn't usable at the moment and until I manage to get fixed, that won't be easy to test my own firmwares
you try this>>>?

Thanks a lot for the link, that may save me, but on the other hand it should void warranty if I open the tablet.
I'm still considering the option, if yes I'll do the surgery this afternoon, will post pictures if it manages to bring my Cube back to life.
Cheers.

Well, looks like my tablet surgery is postponed, the smallest Torx screwdriver I have is a T4 which seems a bit to big for the side screws on the U3GT-H.
I'll look a smaller size screwdriver; if anyone has ever disassembled his U30GT, I'm interested to know which screwdriver type/size you used ?
Cheers.

shadzomacThanks again venz0ja for the disassembling tips.
I do confirm the needed screwdriver is a Torx T2, any bigger size T3 or T4 (like on Pandawill video) just doesn't fit.
After disassembling my U30GT, I successfully managed to restart my device making the contact on the 2 pads on the motherboard. The device did restart and shown the Cube logo but it did not last long, since then it doesn't restart even if I redo the procedure.
I'm not sure about what exactly happened, but I suspect some damage on the components because of electrostatic charge.
I've made videos of all that, I'll probably publish them later if it helps others.
So I'm again without a Cube and it's not convenient to RMA it knowing it has been opened.
Well, I hope I can get some help from the users here to get a working Cube and continue working on the U30GT-H firmware.
Cheers.

Connect the USB cable to computer (use a tested high quality USB cable, and I personally recommend using a back-plate USB port), to enter Maskrom flash mode, you must make contact between the 2 contacts highlighted in the picture, keeping the contact closed press POWER SWITCH on tablet, if everything is OK, the computer will detect a new device and install a driver for it, remove contact.
The USB drivers from the firmware package will do fine.
Start up RK Batch tool and look for a DARK BLUE square (not green or any other colour).
Load the firmware and press RESTORE not upgrade!
The tablet will restore the boot ROM, then it will low format and reflash the ROM.
If everything is OK, in a few minutes or so you will have a fully restored functional tablet.
DOUBLE WARNING:
Take care when messing with the tablet internals and not to make any short circuit with the battery or other components, touch as little as possible or better ask a friend with electronics qualification!
Also don't touch IC's from tablet, they are sensitive to electrostatic discharges (don't wear anything synthetic).
Dont puncture, bend or short circuit the battery, it may explode or provoke severe burning.
Myself and another user unbricked our tablets this way so it should work for you too if there is no hardware damage.
If an ADMIN consider the post is messy feel free to reformat it and to add/remove stuff from it so it may become more usefull.

Hi All,
I'll be trying this tomorrow or as soon as my T2 screwdriver arrives. This is a last resort for me as I've managed to brick my two day old U30GT !!! Now all I get is a white screen after the logo appeared for a few seconds! Can't even get it into flash mode.
Strange, sometimes it will show connected when I run Rockchip batch tool but the icon is pink! Never did get the green.
Tried to upgrade it with the microsim but it didn't work
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
Wonder if the tiny hole next to the earphone socket is some sort of reset or just for show!!
The pink square in Rockchip Batch tool won't let you flash the device, but that's something at least. Maybe it's worth trying a little more to get the green square before disassembling the device.
When the tablet was working, did you use Rockchip Batch Tool to flash a firmware on your Cube ? did you get the green square ?
Cheers.

Hi,
All I every got on the Rockchip tool was a pink icon. I tried 4 different leads but still the same.
I think it bricked when I upgraded using the micro card as I managed to get to a menu by pressing the power button and the +vol quickly. A few options on there and I wasn't too sure what i was doing and ....Well, the rest is my own fault
Have you tried a different USB cable, a good quality one, not the one that ships with the Cube.
Also try a different USB port on the PC, from the back of the computer if you have a desktop machine. Finally, maybe try on a different PC.
