That's great.

Is CWM OK for all users to have or shall I make 2 firmwares versions: one with stock recovery and another with CWM ?

Are there special firmware setup instructions I need to include ?

Cheers.

Not sure if someone needs stock recovery.

Imho, only instruction to get into cwm sould be added:

*power down

*hold VOL+ button and power button (approx 7 sec)
*release when logo flash

Well, I tested CWM on my Cube MINI, it works OK, but the the internal storage comes unformated after the Android system has booted, as the regular recovery normally takes care of that on first boot.

So I had to manually format the Storage within Android system, can this be fixed in CWM ?

Cheers.

It can't be fixed with cwm, and this is ok to format storage manually after first boot.

It works on some Arnova tablets but I don't know about the Cube U23GT.

Moreover, this method should work if the new firmware has same layout as the firmware currently installed on the tablet, which isn't the case here as we have some different partitionning (increased space for /data partition). So I wouldn't recommend doing it as it could result in a tablet brick. This should be fixable without problem with Rockchip flasher.

Cheers.

@admin:

Could you recommend/provide build.prop for games compatibility and tweaks, please?

And which fingerprint should be ok for this tablet?

Thank you.

I've just posted a new custom firmware based on latest Cube's UG23GT 1.04 update from today.

http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/cube-u23gt/cube-u23gt-rooted-firmware-from-official-version-1-04-dated-20121030/

Adrianus, to flash the firmware, you can find Rockchip flasher tool and some instructions here:

http://www.arctablet.com/blog/archos-tablet/flashing-your-rockchip-3066-based-tablet-rockchip-batch-tool-1-5/

Or you can go to vondroid.com, they provide a good tutorial:

http://vondroid.com/threads/sticky-tutorial-how-to-firmware-upgrade.334/

Cheers.

hi, i'm new to this forum, just got my cube u23gt. I just want to clarify if its normal with this unit that when I press the power to put the tab to sleep & press again after about 20 secs, I wont be able to awaken it in one press of the button.  it takes 5 to 6 short & long press to turn it on & when it does, it boots like its been shut down.  but if I set  the leave wifi on to always & press the power button for the tab to sleep, I can re-awaken it even after more than 20 sec of sleep.  doesn't bother me much except that the batt. will drain coz of the wifi being constantly on.  I already tried upgrading the firmware to 1.04 w/c I got from the cube website (as advised by merimobiles) but the problem still persist.  Is this a defective unit?
