Rooted custom firmware based on Cube U19GT official firmware version 1.09 (20120829)

Features:

- root with SuperSU 0.96 (free version)

- writable /system partition

- removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications

- increased space for application (/data partition) to 1.5 Gb.

Rooted custom firmware for the CUBE U19GT-W: kasty-cube_u19gt_w-40-109-rooted2.zip

Using Rockchip Batch Tool version 1.5 to flash the firmware.

Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have a Cube U19GT to test it.

Update 2012/10/04: fixed boot issue.

Just tried this method, and resulted in "restore done succes (1) fail (0)", but when the tablet (U19GT) reboots, it stops rebooting when the 2sunflowers show up. (no black screen, just the sunflowers. )

My computer does recognise the tablet (new hardware found).

Any solution?

for those who don't know how to get in recovery/flashing mode: push volume down, than insert usb cable

Since I don't have a U19GT to test it myself and noone has yet confirmed my firmware works, it may be a problem on my custom firmware.

Can you flash Cube's stock firmware and tell me if it works fine ? then I'll double check if there is anything wrong with my firmware.

Thank you.

I found a possible issue that prevent the tablet from booting (problem in the system partition size in my custom firmware).

I have fixed that and updated the rooted firmware link in the first post. kasty-cube_u19gt_w-40-109-rooted2.zip

It should hopefully boot properly now, please let me know.

Cheers.

Hi Everybody,

I receive cube U19GT since 2days, everything works very well, except that I have problem with camera.
When I open camera I see image and I have message error and I can't use it. After that I have another message " to use camera you have to mount Flash card" and application stop.

I Install firmware but I have always the same problem. Does anyone could help me?

PS: Sorry for my bad english

Well, if the problem happens also with the stock firmware, it's probably a bug. Let's hope Cube brings a fix in a future update.

Still, formatting the local storage may help to fix the problem, check in Factory data reset in Backup & Reset menu, or in Storage menu if you can Erase storage then Mount it.

Cheers.

Thanks for your message. I didn't know about the 1.10 update, I'll rebuild my custom firmware with it.

Still, our 1.09 rooted firmware was already confirmed to work by other forum members (see post #7, #8 and #9), can you be more specific about what's not working for you ?

Cheers.

Thanks for answer.

I read the posts  (7, 8 and 9). But me not work; upgrade fail. Then I try v1.10 and it's work. Last firmware is U19GT-W_v1.10_Win8_20120918.zip. The last firmware has metro UI interface. I dont like it and I try another custom firmware. I use the same method to install firmware (RKBatchTool).
