I'm trying to follow the tuto but I meet some difficulties at step 4 and 5.
I have addes these lines in the .inf file after [Google.NTx86]Â :
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_2207&PID_0010
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_2207&PID_0010&REV0222&MI_01
But the device is still not recognized.
When I run "adb device" in the cmd interface, I have a message an empty list "List of devices attached".
I have checked that the usb debbugging is activated.
I'm not used with doing dump (my first time), so i may miss some steps... I do not really understand what I do

Thanks for trying
I have found that the software SnapPea helps. http://www.snappea.com/
It is dependent on ADB, and will install the drivers if they are not there.
Of course, you have to make sure that "USB Debugging" is enabled in the Developer-part of the Settings.
Hopefully, it will work soon

Hello,
SnapPea really helps, I may keep this software because it looks nice to manage smartphones and tablets !
Some progress... (some difficulties with access permissions)
I'm almost at the end but when I type the last command, I have this answer :
root@android:/ # /data/local/rkdump /dev/block/mtdblock4 /data/local/update.img
unknown image (00 00 00 00)
Here is the cat /proc/mtd command response :
root@android:/ # cat proc/mtd
cat proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 00400000 00004000 "misc"
mtd1: 00800000 00004000 "kernel"
mtd2: 01000000 00004000 "boot"
mtd3: 01000000 00004000 "recovery"
mtd4: 18000000 00004000 "backup"
mtd5: 08000000 00004000 "cache"
mtd6: 40000000 00004000 "userdata"
mtd7: 00400000 00004000 "kpanic"
mtd8: 20000000 00004000 "system"
mtd9: 134800000 00004000 "user"
So mtdblock4 should be the good one (backup one)
Any idea of an error I can do?

you can dump in another way
C:\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb shell
shell@android:/ $ su
su
shell@android:/ # dd if=/dev/block/mtdblock4 of=/sdcard/update.img bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/mtdblock4 of=/sdcard/update.img bs=4096
98304+0 records in
98304+0 records out
402653184 bytes transferred in 158.439 secs (2541376 bytes/sec)
shell@android:/ #
Do this with the boot.img/system/recovery/backup
Of course use the appropriate mtd and naming of the image.
After you finish, pack them in an archive and upload them, and we will try to compile a fflashable firmware.

Your uploaded file is very small for a 400Mb image
I request all of those files because to build an update image you need the followings :
mtd0: 00400000 00004000 "misc"
mtd1: 00800000 00004000 "kernel"
mtd2: 01000000 00004000 "boot"
mtd3: 01000000 00004000 "recovery"
mtd4: 18000000 00004000 "backup"
mtd8: 20000000 00004000 "system"
If you are worried about your personal data, those are stored in the other partitions.
I did a check on my Cobalt and the backup image is 200kb, strange , anyway, i need al those files to do something.
