Hi Oma,

The Odys IRON tablet has very much the same hi level specifications as the Xoro 9719QR et al clones. (RK3188, MALI 400, 2GB RAM, 16GB Flash, 2048x1536 Retina screen, Wifi, Bluetooth, 3G sensor, 2x 2MP cameras, Mini HDMI, Micro USB, 32 GB MicroSD)

There must be a reason why the Odys IRON is not considered a Xoro 9719QR clone because you don't list the Xoro Clones as candidates for the Odys IRON KitKat ROM.

What is the difference?

thanks

Main difference is that the Xoro 9719QR has a Mediatek MT5931 Wifi-Chip with BT Cooperation to MT6622 and the Odys Iron has a Realtek RTL8723 Wifi/BT Chip.

Danke Oma, Am I correct that in the ideal world the kernel should take care of the differences between peripherals like the wifi chip etc.

Thanks again for you valuable contributions. It is people like you that keep the user communities going.

Generally yes. In our case the wifi driver is a kernel module in the build.

Ahh that make sense why the Kitkat ROM will not work on the  9719QR clones. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hi Oma

I have pipo m6 max. I tried my chance and flashed this rom with pipo kernel #217. It looks working except wifi and bluetooth. Is there any way to make it fully working?
