In post #9 is the stock recovery. Flash it (tick only parameter and recovery). Then download the update again and try.

Reboots... starts to install. Then there's a bright red triangle that says "ERROR" in the heart of a dead Android.

After that you've gotta be a bit creative because there's no way off of that screen. (And obviously you can't pull the battery.)

Was able to make it back to stock recovery and then reboot back to the tab.

Oviously the patch is not compatible with the firmware. That's what I see here, too. Flash back the CWM.

Done! So what if you sent me the full dump and I did the update but kept CWM?

Failing that... would it be possible to simply TRICK the patch somehow?

Well, if it would be that simple then we won't chat here ...

We need someone else who can provide a dump of the patched firmware.

i have do all steps like in your guide. the step with the eraseIDB works pefect for me but if i try to click on run just a few seconds later i get an error message in red letters "Error Download File failed and Error Run failed" . (If i change the parameter files it doesn`t work as well as Omni )

We need someone else who can provide a dump of the patched firmware.

Before I installed your ROM I created a full CWM-backup of it: tolino89.V01.01.03.20140122

Are you still interested? OTOH, I would like to get a custom kernel with working HDMI. So, I am interested...

BTW: After some fiddling I managed to get back from your ROM to the original one. I did this due to HDMI problems in your ROM. Instead of 60 Hz the Tolino put out 52 Hz!! :-(   (and 1920x1080x50 delivered 43 Hz)  With V01.01.03 (and the correct boot.img) it is 60 Hz again.

Okay, here is the link (381947521 bytes) . I post it in case somebody else needs it. The link should be valid for one year.

http://www.file-upload.net/download-10131714/tolino-dumps.zip.html

The content is boot.img,  system.ext4.tar and nandroid.md5. I did not include cache (not necessary?) and data (my passwords). If necessesary I will reset my device and upload them, too.

Bye Perilon

Ps: Downloading from file-upload.net is not easy!! I needed several tries not to get an executable.

Really? I had absolutely no problem downloading on the first try... (Maybe you need AdBlock?)

Anyway thanks! Will get to work on it as soon as I get a chance.

Here is the link for the full package (including data and cache); I think you need it.

Just a short feedback (not much testing done): HDMI works! Thanks a lot!
