Any ideas or pointers on my issue posted above?

I do not use such media. So I asked the other guys for further testing. Hope one of them will come back to you.

Hi!

I just mount any ext2,3,4 and fat/vfat via SD Card and that works fine on my mainline kernel 3.15-rc1:

dw_mmc 10214000.dwmmc: fifo-depth property not found, using value of FIFOTH register as default
dw_mmc 10214000.dwmmc: Using PIO mode.
dw_mmc 10214000.dwmmc: Version ID is 240a
dw_mmc 10214000.dwmmc: DW MMC controller at irq 55, 32 bit host data width, 256 deep fifo
dw_mmc 10214000.dwmmc: 1 slots initialized
...
mmc_host mmc0: Bus speed (slot 0) = 74250000Hz (slot req 25000000Hz, actual 18562500HZ div = 2)
mmc0: new SD card at address 0002
mmcblk0: mmc0:0002 00000 971 MiB
mmcblk0: p1 p2
EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): recovery complete
EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. Opts: (null)

I cannot test USB for now as the USB itself are up and (probably) running, but the PHYs of these USB are still not implemented. As we cannot do everything in parallel, we currently concentrate on VMAC (Ethernet).
I await a second radxa for further testing the next days so I can try again some of the kernels mentioned in this thread. Then I can check if there is a workaround to mount external USB media of any flavor.

Regards
Astralix

Oma, got the time to try CWM-Recovery for my Radxa-Rock

Load the Recovery-CWM as instructed in directions:

Using CWM somewhat simplified.
Instead of using the power, reset, and or reflash button combinations. While in Android go to Android APPS.
1) Android APPS click RebootMenu
2) Now, Click on Reboot Recovery this will reboot to CWM window then use mouse or keyboard arrows for what you want

Nice this way without the button routine! Thanks again seems to work as it was intended.

Thanks

You cannot simply exchange the wifi system in a KitKat (selinux) build.

Pls ask Tom in the Radxa Forum to compile a KK build with RTL8188 wifi.

This is a complex setup between the new gen 2 loader (incl. the new rknand.ko), the selinux-kernel, the framework and the keys (incl. the new meta-data partition) in the build.

Additionally the different wifi-systems (RK901, RK903, MT5931, MT7601, RTL8188, RTL8723, ...) are compiled from different stages of the Android development. For example there are different loader (nl or wext) and different wpa_supplicant, etc..

Thank you. I understand now. I will ask Tom to public kernel source or build kernel for 12.8.2013 ver.

I just done building a kernel for Radxa Rock Lite or Developer ver 12.8.2013 that support wifi module RTL8188EU.

Download here: https://mega.co.nz/#!wYRnSRwA!-o_kg12qFW0jNH1q39BQK61PFPOe7riIAxYua1RI2X8

And replace kernel.img from oma package.

Thank you Oma for any way!

pollos I use the HDMI exclusively.  We have a catch22 here if you have no other display.

In Android you goto settings display and change to TV

In Linux you use the following script (radxa.com)

command

~ $ xrandr
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 1024 x 768, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 768
default connected 1024x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm
1024x768 0.0*

Catch22 you have to have a working HDMI or compatible tft LCD display I have no answer for that.

Thanks for the info. Actually, my main monitor is an LG 23EA63V, so hdmi source is not an issue.

Already set oma rom + Ubuntu 12.02 LTS 1080p smooth all.

I just want to av plug radxa everytime i travel back to my family home(student-different city etc...Wink).

I hope someone has tested it and will post here(?) Confused

In any case, would this work? Assuming i have hdmi sound(included oma app) off too...

@pollos

Try this web site for specific questions about Radxa  http://talk.radxa.com/.

Register and do a search,  ask a question if what you need is not found ask.  Really quick for responses and solutions.  Waiting for the crews here to solve the problems with emmc, nand, and bootloader for the 3.10+ kernels and we will see some magic soon.
