I installed v3.1 on my v88s and it is brilliant..... Thanks for you work. I have one little problem. As suggested I set keep WiFi on during sleep to never. But then coming out of sleep WiFi is stuck on searching and does not connect. I have to disable and enable WiFi to reconnect.... Do you have any suggestions forfor a fix? Either way thanks....

Hm, have not noticed such an issue with my very old V88.

There is a new kernel #153 with the changelog notice "optimized wifi". Maybe this will help you.

You can flash the kernel separately (tick parameter and kernel).

Hi Oma,
sorry by my ignorance, you mentioned this ROM can be installed only in 1st gen of Chuwi V88/V88s tablet.
I bought the tablet in October 2013.
I don't know how to check this.
Do you have any clue/hint?
Thank you,

Fernando.

2nd gen does not have QUAD in the S/N. You will find the S/N on the back of the tab.

by my own risk, of course.

Hello Oma,

I followed instructions from file until step 3

1) installation of the usb-driver (skip if you have the driver installed already)
a) boot your Chuwi V88 and set storage mode to MTP and debugging to USB
b) run DriverInstall.exe

2) start the tab into flash-modus
a) run RKAndroidTool.exe with admin rights
b) press power button and volume up button and hold for 12 sec
c) release the power button
d) release volume up button when "Found ..." is shown

I cannot do step 3 because this

Anyway, tablet boots fine (only 2 first steps was done), and Kit Kat it's up and running.

Only one detail: I don't have sound.  But in original Android too (need to unplug/plug a jack in socket)

I miss something?

Do you have and idea how can I fix sound issue?

Thanks,

Fernando.

PD: sorry for my english.

When you do not have sound in two different firmware this is most likely a defective hardware.

In fact I used to have sound in previous firmware, but I said, accidentally uninstalled multimedia app and sound is gone, unless plug/unplug jack.   Yes,  it's weird but Works. No anymore.

Any idea?

By other hand, Is the procedure about installation sucessfully executed? (only steps 1 and 2 was executed)

Thanks

Hi!

I'm thinking to buy a cheaper quad core tablet with 2gb ram. I've seen this Chuwi v88 on dx.com and I really liked it's parameters. Some years ago I bought a chinese tab and ruined after 2 weeks so this time I would like to buy a more reliable one. Is this tablet reliable enough or can you offer something else around this price? Anyway if I buy a new one from dx.com I should be able to upgrade it to 4.4.2 with your package?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Oma,

Please forgive me for my ignorant.  Will your Kitkat V 3.1 be compatible with other tabs in the near future.  I have been with your Kitkat V2.0; 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 for my Vido Mini ZZ all this while.  Or it is uniquely for Chuwi V88 first gen only?

Thanks.

KitKat comes with a complete new environment. New loader, selinux kernel etc. The v3.x builds are based on the Chuwi stock firmware. So they are limited to tabs which have a selinux kernel.

The v2.x builds are an aproach to support as many of the forgotten tabs as we can.
