Sorry guys, instructions included in the pack are still for 1st gen. To start the tab into flash modus press power and vol+ or just click Switch in RKAndroidTool. Hint in post#1 added.

Thanks for feedback pol87! Anything ok with the build?

Hi Oma!

Thanks for your work on our devices and ROMs.

I've noticed some bugs:

1) ROM manager orientation is inverted in comparison to boot logos. Volume keys are inverted in comparison to current ROM manager.

2) Camera and other apps require SD card. I solved it this way: replaced internal_sd folder in /mnt with a link to external_sd. Not sure if this is the best way. Need to repeat this every time after reboot. (During flashing I used add on to increase internal storage to 4 GB and swapp mounts).

3) Touch screen seems to be less sensitive, requires more pressure to react.

4) The lowest brightness setting isn't as low as it was in the stock ROM.

Some other bugs probably not in ROM

1) There's a red border flashing in Google Chrome from time to time (strict mode is disabled). Didn't see it in other apps.

2) Apps stop working from time to time.

3) When I scroll a web-page for example and leave my finger on the screen the page twitches. Not sure if this is a software problem, may be just a bad touch screen. But if you know how fix this please tell. (Did everything mentioned in the 1st item of hints)

Thank you in advance. Looking forward to seeing new custom ROMs from you.

PS. This may be essential. My device has Vol+- buttons and no HDMI. Serial number is V17HDQ8G1141100487 (according to box sticker). I had a #814 kernel version before flashing. I tried to install a 2nd gen ROM a few times but it didn't work for me (screen showed some random points on a gray bg instead of what it's supposed to show) so I installed a 3rd gen ROM and it works fine except bugs listed above.

Thank your for the detailed feedback!

I do not own this tab, so I cannot test all aspects of the kernel.

Standard orientation is Landscape. What is the orientation of: kernel logo, bootanimation, UI (your wording: ROM manager)?

Here is kernel #814: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=2307

Flash it with RKAndroidTool, just tick parameter and kernel. To load the kernel click on the empty box in that line. Report changes in orientation, touch sensitivity, brightness setting.

Ok, just flashed the rom to verify things. Used the add-on for swapped mounts.

Cam is able to store pictures without any further notice. May be there went something wrong in the installation process. You need to change boot.img and parameters before flashing.

Red frame in Chrome is caused by build.prop setting "ro.build.type=eng". I shall correct that in next build.

Apps stops working could due to new loaded version.

Scrolling isse on web-pages is most likely kernel related ... we will see.

Thanks for your reply.

I replaced kernel with #814.

1) T̶o̶u̶c̶h̶ ̶s̶e̶n̶s̶i̶t̶i̶v̶i̶t̶y̶ ̶s̶e̶e̶m̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶b̶e̶c̶o̶m̶e̶ ̶s̶u̶b̶j̶e̶c̶t̶i̶v̶e̶l̶y̶ ̶b̶e̶t̶t̶e̶r̶ as well as brightness settings.

Touch sensitivity is the same. Brightness seems to improve.

2) Scrolling issue became less significant. The page twitches only once if I don't put my finger off after scrolling. It's not that annoying.

Chrome has also freezes/flashings rendering pages whereas firefox doesn't.

3) When I used add-on for swapped mounts cam required SD card. After I replaced boot.img and parameter with original ones (without add-on) cam works fine.

4)Orientation is still wrong in ROM manager (CWM or so? Not sure how to call it wright). Details:

I put a tablet into landscape mode so that Vol. buttons are on the left hand. Reboot it to recovery mode. First boot logo is upside down. CWM orientation is ok but when I click on the upper Vol. button (V-) pointer goes down and vice versa. Then I click on "reboot system now" and see Oma logo is upside down (same orientation as firs boot logo).

It's not really a problem as I'm not going to visit CWM very often.

Ah ok, missunderstanding. Orientation is only wrong in CWM and when rebooting from CWM. This is kernel related and should not be a problem.
To be sure: at normal boot everything is at the same orientation?

I will add kernel #814 to the first post as a mitigation of touch issues.

Swapped mounts works fine here. May be you scrambled-up some stuff. Could you pls dobblecheck?
Also note you cannot change this in a running build. Do a clean install incl. eraseIDB.

Here is a fix for the Chrome red frame issue (install via CWM): http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=2330

Yes, I did full flashing, including eraseIDB. I tried this 2 or 3 times and had the same problem. After I removed swap mounts add-on and made a full flashing again, the problem with SD card disappeared.

Thanks for Chrome fix but it didn't work. Red border still flashes sometimes. Artefacts during page rendering (especially on Google News) didn't disappear.

PS. Could you tell please how to bind screenshot capture to both vol. buttons pressed.

Thanks again for your work.

Ok, lets wait for other users experience. Pls check your external sdcard on the PC for errors.

You can do a screenshot by holding power and vol- for 2-3 sec.

Haha ... hard work here today ;-)

That's why Android doesn't see an internal sdcard with swapped mounts.

Make sure you are using the original cable. Both cable (usb & power supply) must be plugged.

Best is to use win7. Do not use usb3.0 ports.

Use another usb port and run the Driver Assistant. Uninstall driver first, then install again.

Safe flash-modus: hard power-off (hold power unti screen goes black), then hold power and vol+ until "Found" is shown.

Most important is eraseIDB (which wipes the partition layout on the NAND). Check in the right window if it counts up while erasing. If not do the step again.
