chris91300,
Kasty firmware is based on the manufacturer stock firmware. It brings root and some customizations but Oma firmware has some extras. Oma and Crew RKTablets work is solid stuff, but your mileage may vary as there are some subtle differences on Android Rockchip tablets out there. Users really need to test and make their opinion. Posting bug reports also helps tweaking and improving both firmwares.
Cheers.

Here's a preliminary report;
1. Creating a CWM package with just the boot, kernel and system images did not work. I had to install the full ROM (but I created a parameter file for 7GB). It seems that whatever the stock recovery does after first boot is necessary (meaning that a CWM package will not work, unless it also installs the stock recovery).
2. Most things seem to work as expected (so far).
3. Antutu score of 19,800 after first boot. 19,500 subsequently.
4. Something has gone awry with the boot logo; you get an "Oma" image with lightening flashes, then a black screen for a couple of minutes, while the tablet finishes booting – it is easy to think that the tablet had become bricked, but waiting patiently revealed that it had not.
More later …

Further report:
1. Continues to be stable
2. With slightly overclocked kernel, Antutu score goes up to 20,558
3. Serious issue with wireless. Something is seriously wrong with upload speeds, either on the internet or in the LAN. It is down to 0.35 mbps average, when it would normally average 7mbps. Download speeds are quite fine.
Which wireless drivers are included in the ROM ?
