OK. Sorted the SD card issue. I needed to format the nand using the tool on the main page.

link

Also do not require a larger parameter now. I have found a program that will transfer large games to the external SD card. The app is called folder mount and can be found in Google play store.

Hello guys.

Sorry but I did not have time (work related trip) so I have not completed my promise to work on the rom/image.

First things first.

primus good job for the  cameras. If you want attach the files and ill test them later.

killain- I am attaching the 8G parameter file. I'm very interested how many apps and sizes do U use :-)

dinindourden - nice find. I think we have to edit the vfstab file to mount the partitions at boot. I have experience with the linux fstab but I will check the vfstab later.

Hope I will have the time this week.

Thank you very much for the parameter file vasil_d.

Walking dead the game is 1.3gb in size. It contains 6 chapters as in app purchases which adds another gb. As you can see a couple of games like that can take up a lot of storage space.

Can you please tell me if it is very complicated to create a parameter file and if not how do you do it? I would like to try for other tablets.

Copy/Paste from other source:

Bottom line each .img or partition setup is proceeded by it size and then offset into the ROM file.  For instance  0x00002000@0000000(boot), 0x00080000@00002000(kernel), 0x0004000@00082000(cache)

The number is the size@offset.  So first img starts at 0 and is 2000 is size.  The the next one after it starts at offset 2000 and is 80000 in size.  So on and so forth.

The numbers are in HEX mode. Allso you are not suppose to rearrange the content, just modify it.

Thanks for the response vasil_d. So I need to use a hex editor to get the values?

To primus (an all interested at all).

Today I did disassembled (again for the n-time) my cube U39gt. The reason for that this post/threat (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600789)

In short terms I identified the NAND and RAM modules - exact speeds, timings and voltages.

The board is model U9GT3_V05. The nand is Hynix and RAM is SCSemicon. NAND modules aside.

The Ram is HXB15H4G800BF–15H meaning it is DDR3 at 667 (1333) MHz with timings 9–9–9. The voltages are 1.5 V ± 0.075 meaning it is not low voltage model.

In the XDA treath a very nice suggestion about decreasing the CPU/GPU stepping scaling is suggested.

So primus, are you able to give me the exact stepping for the CPU/GPU speeds and voltages.

What I suggest is to make/mod the stock 1.06 kernel reduce the stepping speeds for CPU and GPU.

We can assume that a safe overclock speeds and voltages are - for GPU speed is 550Mhz @ 1.25, CPU speed 1600Mhz@1.3 V  and RAM speeds 667@1.5V

For CPU maybe we can use this stepping

504mhz @ .925v
1008mhz @ 1.075v
1416mhz @ 1.250v
1608mhz @ 1.300v

For GPU maybe we can use this stepping

200mhz @ 1v
400mhz @ 1.100v
533mhz @ 1.250v

RAM like I did write before 667@1.3V

Primus, if you are able to get the default stepping for the clocks and voltages from the kernel pleas post them.

EDIT: To killain - yes you can use the stock/build in Windows 7 calculator.

vasil_d => Stock values & settings of Cube 1.06 Kernel  (same values in 1.04 & Iconbit Kernels ) =>

CPU:

312Mhz@0,950v

504Mhz@0,950v

816Mhz@1,000v

1008Mhz@1,075v

1200Mhz@1,200v

1416Mhz@1,250v

1608Mhz@1,300v

GPU:

133Mhz@0,975v

200Mhz@1,000v

266Mhz@1,025v

300Mhz@1,050v

400Mhz@1,100v

600Mhz@1,200v

RAM:

528Mhz@1,275v

For the libs of 2 Cameras i post them later because i'm not at home. And i see the same post in XDA and test reduce steps on CPU & GPU in my OC kernel CPU 504-1008-1416-1608-1800    & GPU 400-600-798 => Results: a little more responsive and not draining battery too much between stock Cube settings.

PS: Vasil_d => if you want i can mod the Cube kernels (1.04 & 1.06) with your settings

Primus => Thanks man. I was unable to make the perl script to work. Did not have the time also.

So pleas make me a stock kernel 1.06 with the following settings/stepping for tests:

CPU:

504Mhz@0,950v

1008Mhz@1,075v

1416Mhz@1,250v

1608Mhz@1,300v

GPU:

200Mhz@1,000v
400Mhz@1,100v
600Mhz@1,200v

RAM:

667Mhz@1,300v

I guess there is no easy way to add more CPU governor like SmartAssX right?

I provide you in attachements, two version with your settings, because this kernel don't got the 667Mhz Table but 600 or 720 :/. For the Gorvernors, i can't because we don't have the source of cube's kernel for recompiling (and modding) the entire kernel :/.

I found anothers sources for RK3188 (Raxda Rock, Crewtablet team, Omegamoon) for creating brand new kernel for us. But i don' have enough time for the next three  days, maybe this WeekEnd.

Anyone got the entire GPIO log on this tab, because is vital for creating new kernel ? If anyone don't got them i checking GPIOs modules myself this WeekEnd.

Have fun ;)

Yes, they're works on KitKat(4.4.2) & JB(4.2.2).

NOTA: For thoses who want test these kernels. They're on IMG format, so don't try to install them with CWM ;).

Primus, thanks for the last modified kernel.

For 2 H usage it is behaving very well.

I tried the kernels and after 30 minutes of use I had screen freeze and power off.

It seems like only the stock kernel works for me. With other kernels screen freezes, shatters and device power off on gpu activity. e.g. games, movies, ebooks and browsing.

This doesn't affect everyone, so it might be, that some models have different type of hardware, or faulty hardware.

No, everything is ok with your tab. OC will lead to instability in any case. There might be 5-10% of the whole rk3188 popoluation which can run @ 1,7 GHz.

Anyway, it is not the idea to run the CPU @ max speed. Normal CPU usage is only two steps: 312 and 816 MHz.

Thanks for the kernels primus.  I have used the ddr720 kernel and everything is running fine with nearly 3 hours of usage. No instabilities. General use and game playing running smoothly.

Seems faster than the stock kernel.
