Hi guys i have a Mediacom Smartpad 8.0 S4 (M-MP84S4) ...it's a clone of Prestigio Multipad 4 Quantum 7.85 .......... It has Rtl8723 chip .

i have installed successfully kitkat 4.4.2 using the Odys Iron KK rom (thank you guys!!!!!!!!!) ...

i replaced the kernel with the kernel of prestigio (capped at 1,4ghz) , used parameter for 8gb tabs and modified the lcd density in build.prop to 160 ...everything is working fine (camera...wifi...bluetooth..)

But there are a few bugs :

1)No Hw decoding in portrait (see below ...in chuwi v88 rom is working fine!)

2)No battery info (see below)

3)Contacts app doesn't load (see below)

4)tablet doesn't charge when it's turned off (as soon as i use the ac adapter it boots to android and doesn't stay off)

PS=If i use the stock mediacom kernel (1,6ghz) the camera doesn't work (camera app crash if i select front camera o record a video) but the tab charges fine when it's turned off

I installed successfully also the chuwi v88 Kitkat rom v2.3 by OMA (Thank you for your works!!!!!!!)....the battery info is working , the camera is working (it takes pictures and videos flipped 90 degrees....how to fix??), hw decoding in portrait working fine if i select "Disable overlay HW" and "Force Rendering GPU" in developer settings.....contacts app is working fine....but NO wifi and bluetooth....this is the steps that i made to make it boot:

1)replaced kernel with the stock mediacom kernel
2)modified ro.sf.hwrotation=270 from 270 to 0 in build.prop
3)used all idc files in system/usr/idc from odys iron rom to make touchscreen work
4)copied "sensors.rk30board.so" from odys iron rom to make accelerometer work

Now i want to ask you if there is a method to inject the driver for Rtl8723 in the chuwi v88 rom or if there is a method to fix the bugs that i listed ... thank you guys !!

1) it should work in reversed landscape (trun tab by 180 degrees)

3) use 3rd party contact app

cam: what about the Iron kernel?

Oma thanks for the reply!!! anyway after a lot attempts i have wifi and bluetooth working with your rom for the chuwi !

this are the steps that i made to make it working =

1)unpacked boot.img of Odys Iron and Chuwi V88....replaced the file "init.connectivity.rc" in the chuwi boot.img with the one from the Odys Iron and repacked. Replaced the kernel with the stock Mediacom Kernel.

2)Flashed The Rom and copied this files from the Odys Iron Rom to the chuwi rom :

---system/bin/                bcm_supplicant , esp_hostapd ,esp_supplicant , hostapd , hostapd_cli , rtl_hostapd ,rtl_supplicant ,wpa_supplicant , wpa_supplicant_mt5931

---system/etc/firmware    rtk8723_bt_config , rtk8723a , sd8686.bin , sd8686_helper.bin , WIFI_RAM_CODE

---system/etc/init.d         94bluetooth

---system/etc/bluetooth     auto_pair_devlist.conf , bt_did.conf , bt_stack.conf

---system/etc/wifi           p2p_supplicant.conf , p2p_supplicant_overlay.conf , wpa_supplicant.conf , wpa_supplicant_overlay.conf

---system/lib/hw             sensors.rk30board.so , bluetooth.default.so

---system/lib/modules      8723as.ko , 8723au.ko , mt7601ap.ko , mt7601sta.ko , mtprealloc7601Usta.ko , rkwifi.ko , rkwifi.ko.3.0.8+ , rkwifi.oob.ko , rtk_btusb.ko , rtl8150.ko

---all the files from system/usr/idc         (to make touchscreen work)

---system/lib            libbluetooth.so , libbluetooth_jni.so , libbluetoothd.so , libbt-hci.so , libbtio.so , libbt-utils.so

---system/vendor/lib             libbt-vendor.so , libbt-vendor-rtl.so , performance_info.xml

3)Than a changed "ro.sf.hwrotation=270" from 270 to 90 that fixed the camera

After that the bluetooth and wifi worked perfect...there are files that i dont' have to copy??? i'm not an expert so i made a lot of attempts

PS= there is a tool in linux that unpack and repack boot.img of rk3188?? i used a tool in windows called RK3xxx_firmware_tools but with the repacked boot.img the tablet doesn't charge when it's off

Oma excuse me but there is a method to use external sd as internal?? i have to mod "fstab.rk30board.bootmode.emmc" in boot.img ?? and than flash the rom?? thank you in advance

Ps= i've managed to fix the  issue of charging of the tablet when it's off ...it was a problem with the repacking of boot.img

Update = i managed to swap the memories 🙂

Hi Oma! I used your rom for the chuwi...the v2.3 ...i haven't tried the new build (v3.0) because it is build for gen2 loader and the mediacom has a 1st gen loader

I had problems with bluetooth ...it was working fine but  suddenly sometimes it was working sometimes not...if i turn on and off wifi and bluetooth in rapid succession...the bluetooth stops working ...or the tablet reboot itself...

a friend managed to fix that ...he said that some permission for the files were wrong ..and the script in init.d loading rtk_btusb.ko wasn't working well ...i don't know..i have to test it

PS=i've tested also a cm10.1 build you made for chuwi v88...but i had the same problems with bluetooths

PS=i don't know if you need it but this is the link for the stock 4.2.2 rom extracted from the tablet Stock Rom Mediacom

sorry for my english :)

ok i've downloaded v2.3 rom ...changed boot.img and kernel in rockdev folder...eraseIDB and than flashed ...used kk format and than installed the fix ...

the tab booted but touchscrenn doesn't work it is recognized as touchpad and showing a little ball ...also it's invercted

...also wifi and bluetooth doesn't work ...i noticed that only  few files of model fix you gave to me installed....even if the installation of the model fix didn't give me errors  ...system hasn't enough space?

i'm doing something wrong?? i have to use the fix after the first boot?

UPDATE= if i want to copy the files with the file manager even if it has root access it gives me error

UPDATE 2= 1)i copied all the idc files from odys iron rom (ft5x_ts.idc / gslX680.idc / gt80x.idc /

                       ilitek_i2c.idc /qwerty2.idc / qwerty.idc / sis_touch.idc / ssd253x_ts.idc)

                       ...touchscreen now works!!

2)i copied manually the files you gave me in the fix and now Bluetooth and wifi works perfect!! i tried to send a file and reiceive and everything is working ....also now i can turn off bt and wifi as i want ...bluetooth doesn't stop working :)

                 3)the camera was upside down...i changed "ro.sf.hwrotation=270" from 270 to 90 and

now it's perfect  (that fixed also hdmi that was upside down)

UPDATE 3= ok HDMI is working perfect also with Audio ;)

UPDATE 4= the hw decoding in portrait works :) ...

UPDATE 5 = the tablet charge when it's off :)

PS= what is the voice "Performance " in system settings? also the tab starts with Governor "Performance" and a min frequency of 512mhz(stock is 312mhz) how to change that?

So the only problem is that the fix in recovery doesn't install well... anyway thank you for your work !!! and i'm waiting for a your response ! thank you again Oma!!

Fine!

There is an extra menue in settings called performance. Set it to "normal".

Pls upload a dmesg log and the result of cat proc/mtd.

Ok, foud it. There is not enough space left in the system. So we need to delete something first.

Download the fix again http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=1765
and install it twice.
