"Will look at the driver assistant tomorrow.   Regards Peter "

I tried.  Was able to install the driver/s and they seemed to recognise the device.  However, the device was not then recognised by the Rockchip tool.  No matter. I now know I have a functioning 4.4 ROM, which is what I wanted. Everything seems to work: video, sound, wifi, tools, nav bar, status bar etc.  I can reflect on where I started, which was with a nice format, attractive and lightweight tablet that ran slowly, often hung during an app process, and crashed on me often.  Now, I have a speedy and efficient little tablet that compares quite well with our iPad 3, and runs smoothly.  Put me down as a happy man.  Thanks again for your work, Oma.

Silly goose, me.  Help!  I got too ambitious and used a ROM toolbox to make a change to dpi of the screen, which locked me out of the boot process.  Now I can't get past a certain point where "com.android.systemui" quits repeatedly, as soon as you touch the OK, not allowing the boot to go any further.  In fact, even that screen is in German now, not English.

I have had no success with trying to restore via my desktop computer, because of some problem with the drivers: I can sort-of install a driver, but it's not recognised by either of the rockchip tools, so I can't restore.  Is there a way I can get into recovery mode?  [as an aside, it seems to me that the lack of a second switch on the iFive Mini3 makes it hard to get into a boot sequence or recovery or whatever].  Can anyone assist me?

Have you ever enable the usb debug? If so,you can try to edit the build.prop via adb.

And I suppose that your system is windows8.1 right?Try to disable one of the "usb root hub" and it may recognize ur tablet in bootloader mode.

thanks Minson.  Wow, that will require me to do some new learning.  I know nothing about adb or usb root hubs (btw I have Windows 7).  before I start learning, maybe there is a way to progress things at least.  That screen in German appears to be asking for a password to unlock the stored password.  By clicking on OK on the menu that keeps popping up about the systemui crashing, I can input one letter at a time in the line asking for the password.  If I knew what that password was, I could at least get the boot going a bit further, and I am hoping that might help with the driver assistants.  Anyone know what password is being referred to?

Hi Oma,

ich bins wieder :). Hello again.

I installed your latest V88 V2.1 KitKat on my RK3066 imuz TX12D / MPMAN MPDC110BT

I used the 3.0.36 Kernel and the RK3066 Loader.

It fully booted.

Some issues:

- Screen rotation -90° (bootanim, homescreen, camera) (workaround the preinstalled Rotate app)

- WLAN/BT fully off  (dmesg on my 2nd device is saying its a RK903)

- Screen flickering when changing tabs (workaround ok: HW overlay deactivated)

- Cant see external SD in the pre-installed file explorer. es-file explorer is ok.

Is there a possibility to get this fixed?

Will continue testing.

Many Many Thanks and regards, Neptune

Hi Oma,

I have installed your 4.4.2-ROM successfully. Unfortunately, the screen rotation function or app switches the screen orientation to portrait mode automatically and deactivates the auto rotation setting. I could not find any way to prevent this, neither in the system setting nor anywhere else. The screen auto rotation setting in system settings is automatically deactivated, after I set it on true.

Is there a way to force the orientation to landscape?

Unfortunately, I am not skilled enough to manipulate the build.prop by myself, like Rock293031 did.

Which build exactly? Did you change the kernel? What do you mean with "distorted"?

Flash the firmware again. Use an other USB-port on your Win7 PC (do not use an USB3.0 port). Or use an other PC, which is in most such cases the less painfull way.

Kernel #351, this is a 2nd gen V88 - right?

Maybe the sensor is build in in another direction. Unbelievable.

I flashed this one (RK31_kernel_3036_u6_pipo),right?

I have tried to flash "Oma_RK31_Chuwi_V88_CM10.1_4.2.2_v1.3.2a" with this kernel into the U6 and it booted successfully without turning the wifi&bluetooth on .And it would do the factory reset once you reboot the device.
