Hello owners of the JXD S7800B with 8GB, hello Oma and hello to the Crew,

first I want to thank Oma and the Crew for their genial work on porting high performanced roms to cheap devices, mostly imported from China.

I puzzled up your great efforts to a working single firmware.img of "CrewRKTablets_Odys_Iron_Omni_.4.4.4_v1.4.1" for the gametablet JXD S7800B with 8GB nand which can be flashed through RKbatchTool easily. Oma agreed to share the files with you:

Rom 1 for 2013-models:

- Old kernel 1.0.9 (vsync 60 Hz)

- 1.6GHz CPU

- Working Headphones

- Tincore Keymapper is mandatory for proper working joysticks

- PC-USB-connection is working with USB-Debugging turned off

CrewRKTablets_Odys_Iron_Omni_.4.4_v1.4.1_for_S7800B_Kernel-1.0.9

Rom 2 for 2013/2014 models:

- New compiled kernel 1.5 (vsync 60 Hz, audio denoise, power-button-debug, updated GPU driver, HDMI improvement).

Big thanks to lujji for compiling this amazing kernel and for allowing to use it in my firmware images.

- 1.6GHz CPU

-¬†Headphones have to be turned on/off¬†manually through¬†widgets from apps like ‚ÄúSoundAbout‚ÄĚ from Playstore

- Tincore Keymapper is optional for proper working joysticks

- PC-USB-connection is working with USB-Debugging turned off

CrewRKTablets_Odys_Iron_Omni_.4.4_v1.4.1_for_S7800B_lujji-Kernel

  omn1.jpg

Please read the information.txt on how to install. The general functions of Android work great an on a very high performance with this rom on my device. See the known bugs in the changelog. An additional benefit in Rom 2 is lujji’s kernel which gives you a correct vsync, 1.6GHz clockspeed, audio denoise and updated GPU drivers for 2013/2014 models (Also the so called T-models).

Last but not least: This rom works with the old loader.bin version 1.24. So there is no problem if you come from JellyBean and if you want to go back to JellyBean later.

ALL THANKS GO TO OMA AND CREW RKTABLETS FOR PORTING THIS NICE ROM ! GREAT JOB ! Enjoy the roms and make donations to Oma on Crew RKTablets if you like. I ALSO THANK LUJJI FOR HIS AMAZING JOB ON THE KERNEL.

TincoreKeymapper should not be necessary with this rom. But if you need it for your special purposes look how it set it up successfully:

Ooops. I found the first bug. All games are in wrong rotation of 180 degrees. Upside is downside. All other apps and the camera have the correct rotation.

Oma, do you have any idea ? The hw-rotation in build.prop is set to 180. Changing fake-rotation does not change anything (but the bootanimation). I cannot understand how only games can be affected by the bug ?

Thanks.

Hello pogodancer, have you tested the key mapping (tincore) and sticks work to move in home screen to change icons? Thanks

Wow, you are great. Maybe not the perfect solution but it works like a charm. Seems that there are no other bugs at the moment.

Unfortunately I cannot edit my post #1. I renewed the firmware.img and uploaded it here:

look at post #1 please. Thanks.

Sorry but I am not familiar with games. What I successfully tested with Tincore Keymapper:

I gave the same functions from the left joystick to the right joystick. So both joysticks can be used at the same time and have the same functions. I could imagine that it works to give other functions to the joysticks you want. But this is something you have to try. Please report if you have any news. Thanks.

Hello pogodancer,

Thanks for that JXD S7800b package.

By default our forum allows the post owner to edit only his own posts that haven't received an reply.

Your authorizations have been changed so you can now modify your earlier posts so you should be able to change post #1.

It may also be of interest for other users if you could post some screenshots of the firmware running on the JXD (stuff like about Settings / About tablet page, homescreen, ...)

Cheers.

Wow. Thank you very much Oma. That did it. Perfect now ! I updated post #1.

Something what is not a big bug: Normally the charging symbol is one battery in the middle of the black screen (as you know). When I am charging the battery jumps with each move from the left to the right and back. Maybe something wrong in the boot.img or recovery.img ? But never mind. As long there is no other bug, this firmware is the best I ever had on this device.JumpingChargingSymbol1.jpgImage EnlargerJumpingChargingSymbol2.jpgImage Enlarger

Try to change the charger.bin from your stock firmware.

@ Oma

I cannot open the boot.img because of "Android magic not found ...". Can I try to use the stock boot.img ?

@ Oma

that boot.img and the stock boot.img does not make a difference. But thanks. I think we can live with that.

Now waiting for the first complaints of gamers when the gamepad and the joysticks are not working correctly.
