Hi all.
I've tried Crew RKTablets Genio by Oma CM10.1 v1.4 with Ployer Momo 12 kernel.img on Woxter Tablet 101 IPS Dual and it works fine. I then decided to read and learn a bit more and managed to extract the actual kernel.img from my device stock ROM using RKwintools. I will be using this instead of the Ployer one for my next flash.
However I still haven't found enough info (or at least clear enough for my current Android knowledge level) to solve some doubts, so here are some questions for anybody here willing to kindly help me:
1. Should I also use the boot.img in my stock ROM (does not contain kernel, comparable size) instead of the one supplied in the custom ROM by Oma? RKwintools allows to unpack it to get the ramdisk contents, the cfg file and the kernel (null), so I could replace/keep files as required, but I'm lost here.
2. How could I update the recovery.img in the custom ROM with a newer CWM (6.0.1.5 in custom ROM)? Same as 1, since it seems that boot.img and recovery.img share same structure.
3. I've found lots of info about dealing with the unpacking/packing of system.img (ext4 filesystem in custom ROM), but nothing specific regarding the *actual* editing that can be performed. RKwintools can unpack system.img, then repack after changes. So I'm interested in how to perform the changes. I would like to:
a. Change default language and locale (german on custom ROM): is it just a matter of editing \build.prop and save changes?
b. The app selection by Oma is very nice, but it's now a bit outdated. Should I just overwrite/add/remove apk files under \apps, then repack system.img and I'm good to go? Any naming restrictions, or dependecies I should edit accordingly? Ie: for ViperFX I know there's the apk in \app, but also the .so "driver" under \lib\soundfx
c. Which files (if any) could benefit performance/compatibility/stability if replaced with the ones in my stock ROM (in similar way that it helps to use the stock kernel.img)?
Many questions, I know. Thank you very much in advance.

To deal with all this one need to work with linux. Pls upload your dump, I can extract the kernel for you. And: do not touch the system as you will most likely corrupt it.

Latest available stock ROM for my device can be downloaded here. But please note that I've already extracted the kernel.img using RKwintools (v1.3.5 here). What I'm trying to do is customize (by content update/slight modification) your 1.4 ROM. RKwintools can unpack an ext4 (and others) system.img, then repack after modification, well at least that's what's supposed to do. Maybe I'm missing a lot of theory here...
