I already installed CM10.1 on rk30board Beta Build v1.3.4 for Yuandao / Vido N101-II successfully (based on Yuandao kernel), with CWM 184.108.40.206 touch (see here : http://vondroid.com/threads/yuandao-vido-n101-ii-kernel-20130916-cyanogenmod-10-1-android-4-2-2-part-4-gb-cwm.17509/#.UrNSIt9QIU4 and here : http://vondroid.com/threads/yuandao-vido-n101-ii-kernel-20130916-cyanogenmod-10-1-android-4-2-2-part-12-gb-cwm.17508). The system was very responsive.
I upgraded to CM10.1 on rk30board Beta Build v1.3.5 to get some games working and no rotation artefacts. I have some remarks / questions :
- Artifacts are gone but I feel the system less responsive, is it only me?
- You could easily add native init.d support (no need of pimpmyrom) in boot.img:
in init.cm.rc, replace the sysinit line with
in init.rc, rename the sysinit line with sysinit1 and add the following block
service sysinit2 /system/bin/sysinit
- To prevent middle term slow down, you should mount /data and /cache with discard option
I already did all that, it is available here: http://www.mediafire.com/view/5fs3j449jjnovzx/boot.img)
- Some games are not working. For instance, Agent Dash (It crashes, I don't know why), and Beat Hazard. For this one, I was able to catch the error with adb logcat and see a JNI warning. In build.prop, I disabled the checkjni parameter (ro.kernel.android.checkjni=0) and now Beat Hazard is working
Anyway, a big thank you for all your work!
I've already seen these threads on VonDroid. Thank you for feedback and advise!
I've mentioned the loss of performance here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48478272&postcount=796
However, as rotations artefacts was an main complain, we decided to include this solution.
The idea behind the PimpMyRom solution is, that mostly of the users do not need additional kernel modules running.
We are going now to prepare for the release of the CM10.1. If you have further advise, pls feel free to post here.
Thank you again for your support!
