Hi guys!

I have an Alcatel One Touch Evo 7 HD with a 7" 1280x800 screen, RK3066 dual core CPU, 1GB RAM and 4GB storage. Unfortunately I couldn't find any more detailed specs about this tablet.

The stock rom on the tablet was some very laggy version of Android 4.1.1 so I managed to root it and install CWM Recovery from the ArcTools app. I made a full backup of the stock rom (I uploaded it here: https://mega.co.nz/#!1lUxhA4L!61O5kzleCYf0yltAztIHQ-s_7St-6929SFjxaN9i8L8) and then I downloaded and flashed the latest version of cRom from this link: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?p=1913

At first the tablet didn't want to boot, so I switched the kernel.img in the custom rom to the kernel.img from my backup of the stock firmware and flashed it. Now everything seems to be working well on the tablet, except wifi, bluetooth, and screen rotation.

So I'm here to ask for your help to get wifi, bt and screen rotation working on my device, because I know that unlike me you are experts in this topic :D

That sounds bad :( Is it possible to run some clean version of Android 4.1 on my tablet? Maybe CM10?

Hi,

Sorry for hijacking your thread but I need to ask you a question...

Have you tried OTG on the evo 7 HD? I still have the stock ROM and I'm trying to get it to work but no luck yet.

I found your thread yesterday as I was searching for another ROM to put on it in case that was the issue. However it doesn't seem like its going to happen according to the answers here.

I found this,

http://versionkitkat.blogspot.se/2014/05/how-to-install-android-442-kitkat_9070.html

but I cant find the actual ROM anywhere and no info about it other than on that site.

/Anders

I, personally didn't try OTG, but on a Hungarian forum others stated that it doesn't work for them. The blogspot site you linked is most likely fake I think (it doesn't provide any links or useful information).

The whole situation is sad, because the stock rom is driving me mad with it's constant lagging, and although CM10.1 seems to be working well on the device, without wifi it's basically useless :(

However If you find a fully working rom for the tablet please post it in this thread.

I will:)

Tthanks for the info on the OTG. I've been going crazy trying to get it to work. Now I know I can give it up, at least until there's another ROM to try it on. Maybe its HW though.

Well I basically gave up the search for a working rom. Unfortunately there are no developers for this tablet and custom roms for other tablets doesn't work correctly on it.

Hello,

Sorry for resurrecting this old topic, but i just found this post. If I understood correctly, there is working wifi for MT6620 chip on android 4.2. The rom in the topic is for RK3188 chipset, so I just wanted to ask if maybe a similar rom is possible for my old RK3066 tablet?

Would be possible when your tab had a 3.0.36+ kernel. That is not the case.
