Has anyone been able to get the adb usb driver to work for Arnova 9G3?  It doesn't seem to recognise the driver.

Ian,
Here is the procedure to add support for your device in ADB.

First make sure you enabled ADB, go to Settings / Developer options and verify that USB debugging is enabled.
Then go to the Device Manager or your computer and see under Other devices, you should see a device with a question mark.
Enter in it, go to Details tab, Hardware Ids then get the VID and PID.

Get our ADB driver package from here:
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/adb-driver-update-for-archos-arnova-devices/

Edit the  [Google.NTamd64] and [Google.NTx86] sections of android_winusb.inf file to add your new device, use the VID and PID you got in Windows System Manger.

Save your INF file.

Go back to the system manager, right click on the device with the question mark, choose Update Driver Software... then Browse my computer for driver software... point to where you have your adb package and INF file updated.

Just ask here if anything isn't clear... and let us know your VID & PID so we can add it to the INF file.

Cheers.

Is this what you wanted?

;;; Arnova 9 G3
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006&REV_0222

Although that installs, adb doesn't list the device in command prompt 🙁

I have similar a similar issue on the Arnova 10b G3 where ADB installed (after I modified the .inf file with proper VID&PID) but the device isn't listed.

Still, I got ADB working once during my custom firmware tests but I haven't recorded what made it work. It's probably fixable, I'll let you know if/when I find something.

Everything seems to work on Arnova 7DG3ST-CP (better known as the ChildPad). Here is what I get:

Image Enlarger

I added the following:

;;; Arnova ChildPad Resistive
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0E79&PID_1459
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0E79&PID_1459&MI_01

Maybe for 9G3 it would be:

%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USBVID_2207&PID_0006&MI_01

With the CHildPad, I also have pid_1459_revxxx; but I just skipped it. 🙂

That doesn't seem to work either, should I have it set to USB debug and MTP or USB debug and mass storage?

USB debug and MTP is what I use...

USB debug and MTP is what I use...

That's what I had it set to.

Should it be in device manager as Android Phone? And then should it be adb, bootloader or composite device?

Android Phone and then Android ADB Interface. No idea why it is not working, I am not too technical when it comes to this... 🙁

I added these for the Arnova 10b G3

%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_2207&PID_0006
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_2207&PID_0006&MI_01

But ADB still shows no devices. I have the tablet attached with USB Debugging and MTP on. Has anyone had any luck with this model at all?

You need to do everything correctly step by step like on this link  http://blog.fh-kaernten.at/wehr/?p=1182

After that when you add usb ids to that file you may need to do

adb kill-server

+

adb start-server.
This helped me with Arnova 9 G3.
