ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install for RK3066 and RK3188 -- TWRP/CWM Flash-Tool and root for RK3288
Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !
In the past, I think Arnova did not bother updating their older devices to latest OS (Arnova G1 stuck to Android 2.2 Eclair/ 2.2 Froyo), Arnova G2 on Android 2.3 Gingerbread). I think it will be the same for the G3.
Still, they released the kernel source code for most their G3 tablets, so there's hope to get some custom kernels and system builds for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, probably if there is already some support for other RK2918 tablets.
We'll see if there is interest from independent developers to work on the port...

Hi all clever er than me peeps. I have tried installing the zip for 4.1 JB on my arnova 9 G3 off of my sd which looked like it worked ok for a few second's, I get pop ups now saying Unfortunately android keyboard (ASOP) has stopped. I have tried clearing the data to no affect, what do I need to do please. Getting fed up now.

For the jelly bean upgrade found at http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/arnova-9-g3/arnova-9-g3-custom-firmware-android-4-1-jb-root-more-space-for-apps-and-pip-video-player/ you need to use the Rockchip installer software. If you follow the process in the video (it is the same for the Arnova 9 G3) provided it will install with no problems. My son has been using this ROM for over a year without issue.
