Here is an easy way to install Android Market on your Arnova 9 G2 tablet.

Image Enlarger

This custom firmware is based our dump of Arnova's latest firmware dated 2011/11/18 (fingerprint: eng.yc.20111118.101706) where we have added Android Market and root. With our Kasty EZ firmware, to get you a working Android Market and root on your Arnova 9 G2 Tablet in less than 10 minutes just from your tablet, without any drivers or computer needed.

Install procedure

Before starting, please make sure you backup all your existing apps, data and files that are on your tablet as they will be erased during the flash process. Also make sure your device is connected to the power.

Step 1. Flashing the firmware

Run Appslib that can be found in the applications on your tablet. While in Appslib, search for "Arctools" application, you should get "ArcTools (Market Apps installer & Disk tester)" in the list, download, install and run the application.
In Arctools, go to Firmware tab, select "Arnova 9 G2 EZ custom firmware 1.11" (or more recent than 1.11 if there is one)
Read the disclaimer in the application…

Hi there,

The firmware install was very smooth - thanks Smile

However, I am unable to 'establish a reliable data connection with the server' to enable the market.

I have tried the Youtube trick, clearing data and cache, a factory reset, tried gmail from a manually installed apk... what am I missing?

Well, it's mostly a temporary problem that can go away after a few hours.

You can also try "Reset Market" button on the first tab of Arctools application.

Run it, allow Superuser for 4 times (it will just delete 4 directories). When it's done, reboot immediately and restart the Market.

Thank you for your help, but this has not worked. I tried yesterday too and got the same error.

Hello,

is this firmware English-only or does it also support other languages?

Thank you

Hannes

Hi there,

I am also unable to 'establish a reliable data connection with the server' to enable the market.

I've tried the "Reset Market" button on the first tab of Arctools application.

Run it, allow Superuser for 4 times (it will just delete 4 directories). When it's done, reboot immediately and restart the Market.

But it doesn't work. What am I missing and how to fix it.

Thanks much.

I have tried hard reset for 5 or 6 times and now I can log in Google account and run market correctly.

I do not know why it works.

thanks much. LaughLaughLaugh

I'm currently testing other options on this problem, I'll post when I have some news or new things to test.

You can't delete installed apps on Morka's firmware, they reside on a CRAMFS (read only) file system.

There may be updates for Morka firmware in the future with read/write access to the system.

Oh, sad! If I flash this firmware, could I remove build-in apps and install new one.

Android Market and root on your Arnova 9 G2 with our EZ custom firmware (v1.1)

Like: install new status bar (I hate the original one), new theme (ICS theme or others) and so on.

Please help. How do I do and what I need to. I am the new comer of this field.

Thanks very much.

installed fine but cannot install any apps as it just says your device is not compatible??? any help would be much appreciated.

ok now I can get pretty much every app from the official market to work but the app store thinks my tablet is a mobile phone and when I connect to my computer it comes up as HTC Dream mobile phone??????

Not sure what I did to get the market and apps working but I'm happy that it does as I can now download all official apps including the brilliant IMDB app which has movie trailers in HD and it looks stunning on the 9G2.

I would like a copy of the ARNOVA 9G2 original firmware to keep just incase I need to put it back to it's original as new state i.e. if it develops a fault and I need to return it but not sure where I can get this from, anyone have any ideas?

Does anyone have a problem with their device crashing and freezing after this install? Mine has crashed twice now resulting in me having to press the reset butting and waiting for it to boot back up. After doing this all of the apps I have downloaded and installed say this app is not on this device?? Any help much appreciated, many thanks.

Our custom firmware have been tested before release, nothing such as your problem has been reported.

Furthermore, the custom firmware has almost no modification over Arnova default firmware, appart for the system modification to add partial root and the Market apps addition.
