It's looks quite unlikely to me.
One reason is the device specs, 512 MB and old ARM Cortex A8 based RK2918 processor are very far from Canonical (Ubuntu's editor) recommendations (ARM Cortex A15 based, 2 GB RAM)
Also, it would require some specific developments for the kernel and drivers adaptation that Archos/Arnova won't probably provide and I doubt any independent developer would make, at least for the G2 devices.
