Okay guys, as of today I am finally on this 'more' offical type ROM I got around to installing after trying out the nexus style ROM and not liking it. Admin was right, it was just a case of my previous attempts to install this ROM was a flashing issue. But alas I am have the same problem with this ROM as I had on the fineless ICS ROM, is anyone else having the same problems I wonder? I can download and successfully install Chrome browser but the app doesn't function properly and loads half of a page and is completely unresponsive and I am unable to scroll and click links etc...
Also, flash doesn't play videos in fullscreen with a browser, it's not picky about which one either, everyone I've tried. The audio contines to play in the background but no video.
Thanks in advance, Martin.
Chrome browser looks still unstable to me, even on official Google certified ICS tablets such as the Archos G9, I made some other comments about that in the 10b G3 forum: http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/arnova-10b-g3/google-chrome-app-hiccups/
For Youtube videos, I'd recommend using Google's specific app rather than Flash browser. For other types of videos running on Flash, I haven't yet figured out the problem, I'll post if I find something.
Cheers.

Hi, I am trying to flash some Custom Firmware, But, I am kind of getting stuck at the first hurdle, Recovery Mode. I have read loads of blogs, Forums and websites and tried all the buttons but i Cannot get it to enter Recovery Mode. Could Someone please set the record straight and tell me exactly what i need to do, what buttons to hold and for how long. If some one could do this for me, I would be most grateful.
Thanks, Sam

Thanks admin, when I speaking of the flash video issue I wasn't referring to youtube videos, naturally the youtube app is one of the first to get installed. I wish Vimeo and BBC flash videos would work properly though.

Well Sam, on my 9G2 what I do is switch the thing off by holding down the power button and click power off button in Android, then I hold down the menu button and then insert a pin into the reset hole for about 3 seconds and then release the pin and then take your finger off of the reset button. You won't actually see anything on screen, the screen remains black. Oh and I always make sure the usb cable is connected before hand.
I hope this helps.
A little tip, on my tablet, when I insert the pin, I put the pressure towards the back of the device (or insert the pin toward to back end of the device in the hole -If you know what I mean?) otherwise the pin doesn't seem to engage the reset switch properly, you'll feel it when you've hit the reset)

I will describe how I did:
1. The tablet in the usual switched-on condition is connected on USB to the computer.
(Don't pay attention to inscriptions on the tablet screen. The main thing - the screen is switched on.)
2. Insert a writing paper clip into an opening of "RESET" and press the menu button. You should make it synchronously.
3. Hold within about 1 second.
4. Take out a paper clip.
5. Then unpress menu button still approximately in 1 second.
If all of you made correctly, the system won't be started and you won't see ARNOVA inscription.
Now device in flashing mode.
Procedure of further installation is in detail described at a forum and shouldn't cause in you problems.
Naturally, you should specify the location of drivers manually. Drivers are in the folder where you unpacked RKBatchTools. Most likely they in the drivers/32/xp folder (or win7)
The main thing that drivers were installed without a mistake. If the message emerges that something is wrong, means incorrectly switched on flashing mode. Try to repeat dance with paper clips once again.
Good luck!

Hi, I'm attempting to flash an Archos Arnova 9 G2... my first attempt at flashing with this particular firmware failed, due to being unable to download firmware or something similar, so I am trying to flash it again...
I can't get back into a situation where I can re-install the rockchip driver as Windows 7 thinks it either doesn't need a driver or it already has the latest version... I have set the Windows setting that I choose the driver, but I'm still having trouble, if anyone can advise it would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: it brings up the Unknown Device under USB Controllers... I've been unable to get it to see it in the main device section 🙁

Trying to install the Arnova 9 G2 custom ics firmware, I'm following instructions using the Rockchip flashing tool. When I go to put the device into flashing mode, instead of finding the device and prompting for a driver I get the following:
USB Device Not Recognized One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.
Tried it on a few Win7 computers and on an XP computer, same result.
Changed the hardware installation settings as per the troubleshooting section. Same result.
Any thoughts anyone?
re above: thanks redthief and excelletor, unknown device shows up only while the reset pin is still pushed in. It's a little tricky, but i can click to upgrade driver while it's pushed in but then message says it already has the best driver. Then when reset pin is pulled out it all disappears and tablet restarts. Admin, any ideas?
Hello, I have the same problem. Can you help me? Thanks for the reply.

One small question. I can't understand what Internet browser is installed in this firmware. Browser very convenient. Earlier I didn't use such program. It was pleasant to me. Anywhere didn't find the program name (everywhere it is written simply - a browser). In one place there is a mention about Google laboratory. It is Chrome? Or I am mistaken? I would like to find additions to this browser (for example Addblock).

I downloaded the last Chrome betta-version and finally understood that the composition of a firmware included earlier version of this Internet browser. By the way, this last betta-version works awfully.

i did mine on windows 7 you have to plug the tablet into the computer while turned on, then turn it off, while its off hold menu and press the reset button. if you have the problems i had which are in my comment below do the same again but click restore instead of upgrade! hope that helps!
