Hello everyone, have been looking for an easy and simple way to root my Arnova 9 G2 I (the one with ICS) and had some difficulty locating proper ADB drivers, so I modified the existing ones from Archos to work for 9G2I.
The attached modified android_winusb_9g2i.inf must be added to the existing usb_driver folder of the original ADB driver package that can be obtained from here.
Having already enabled USB debugging mode on the tablet, and using this modified inf file the tablet is recognized immediately after directing the system to the driver folder, then drivers are installed in seconds.
After that, using a simple ROOT tool created by Bin4ry is all that is needed, the tool is here.
Use the "other" type of tablet on the menu of the tool.
A couple restarts of the tablet later (instructions are provided on screen by the ROOT tool) you can enjoy.
No Java JDK, Android SDK etc will be needed, BUT the modified driver is essential, otherwise the ROOT tool will not function, contrary to what is written about this tool, it will run correctly only if proper ADB drivers for 9 g2i are installed before attempting to run the ROOT tool.
