In the UK, Argos and Dixons group (Currys/PC World) are both selling this nice looking tablet.
Argos quote 256MB of RAM and I have bought one to check whilst PC World/Currys say 512MB RAM. The price is the same. Returned the tablet to Argos thinking I got a bum deal but when I went to Currys, the model on display was also showing just 256MB of RAM despite the website showing 512MB.
The staff were unable to help and so I didn't purchase, has anyone got the tablet and can you see how much RAM is available to running applications? If there is 512 - can you confirm where you bought it?
The difference in speed should be noticable if there are two versions, more RAM means much less swapping of memory between apps/background processes.
I had one that is currently under repair, due to power problems.
I am pretty sure it was a 512 Mb model, but won't be able to confirm before I get the device back.
I do agree that 512 Mb is a minimum today, especially for a device of that price.
