Hi,
I'm new here and a friend of Oma7144. I build kernel for different Odys and BQ tablets and I have seen that the AN8cG3 is very similar to the BQ Kepler 2 kernel of me, except that the AN8cG3 has no HDMI.
So I have made a test kernel for you, and perhaps someone want to give this a try.
The kernel is made for Oma's JB 1.2.2 (Oma rocks many RK2918 devices!).
Features:
Overclocked CPU 1104MHz
Minimum CPU 24MHz
DDR RAM 1024MB/ 430MHz
Extended BT Stack by fr3ts0n
Camera Fix
TUN/TAP Device activated (VPN)
NTFS Support
Â
Kernel:
JK-TestJB-AN8CG3-oc1104_20121125.7z
Model fix:
Oma_JB_v1.2_Modell_fix_NEOX_overclocked.zip
Â
As always, use on your own risk!
Please give feedback to me!

Thanks for that JochenKauzÂ
Exelletor in our team has an Arnova 8c G3, he should be able to give you some feedback soon...
Cheers.

Many thanks, hopefully all is working fine.
I have another oc kernel that should match a Arnova tablet...
Odys NEOX7 should match with AN7FG3.. if someone want to give it a try...

Both kernels (Kepler 2 and AN8cG3) are the same, except I disabled the HDMI ANX7150 for the AN8cG3, don't want to waste space.
Thanks for the test, so I can raise this kernel to normal state, great!
10% more... thats what we could expect for the overclock kernel.

Updated AN8cG3 kernel.
Changed Toolchain to OSELAS gcc 4.6.2
new feature:
smaller kernel.img
round about 10% faster
External Hub aktivated
DVB driver added
The kernel is optimized to run with Om7144's CustomRoms.
As always there are 2 different kernel, one is for JellyBean and the other for CM10
JellyBean:
JK-kernel_308_arnova-an8cg3_201301121601_JB.7z
Oma_JB_v1.2_Modell_fix_NEOX_overclocked.zip
CM10:
JK-kernel_308_arnova-an8cg3_201301121626_CM10.7z

Thanks for the update JochenKauz & Oma7144Â
Exelletor hasn't been around lately but I'm sure he'll give a test on your new firmware on his 8c G3 when he's back.
Cheers.

As far as I can see in the defconfigs of Arnova, the AN8cG3 kernel should work also with AN8G3 and AN7FG3.
So, if you want, you could give the AN8cG3 kernel a try.

Okay, sorry for that.
I have taken a closer look at the driver section and for the mentioned tablets there are 2 touch drivers compiled into the kernel. I think that is the problem. I have used the one of them, but I think you need the second one. I'll make a test kernel for you..

Here we go...
http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=591
It is a test build for the AN8G3. Please report any problems. If you got problems, it would help me if you could provide me a dmesg log of the original kernel.

You need root for that and an App like that
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=scd.lcex&feature=search_result
the dmes is a kernel log, so I can see what drivers are initialized on boot.
