XpertHere is a custom firmware for the Arnova 8b G3:
http://www.arctablet.com/users/arctablet/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdst/kasty-arn8bg3-40-42b.zip
It was made a while ago, but never released as I did not get enough feedback from the tests.
Please let me know how it goes, it should be similar in feature to the one for Arnova 8 G3.
Cheers.

The rom works fine on my tablet, too. For the flashing
It wasn't possible to use the rockchip flashing tool for me (I found no working driver to connect the tablet for the flashing mode). So I copied the img from the zip file direct on the tablet and the installation started with the build in auto update function.
many thanks

Thanks - works good
two things still
1. The Flash: some applications say it's no flash installed
2. Google Play: some apps it says they are not compatible with the version of Android
for example: FireFox, Netscape, Chrome, Quicktime, Top Eleven Footballmanager
You can update the android to use more apps ?
greetings from Germany
Yes, please use the custom firmware.
If we got a few reports it works fine, we'll include it in ArcTools later.
Cheers.

Same for me. I copied my update.img to /mnt/sdcard and did a reboot. Now I am also a proud owner of a custom rom.
The Arnova 8b G3 support in ArcTools is only online yet, please use the custom firmware mentioned in Post #3.

I just upgraded my new tablet and some points :
- The upgrade works correctly using the copy method.
- No instructions how to get the tablet in recovery mode ( tried all, none worked )
EDIT : Instructions now in another post in this section
- Flash seems to work on and off, i.e., if you open a stream it works then the next one don't, you need to reboot for each new stream you want to see ( Can this be corrected, and if so how to )
EDIT : Do not, I repeat do not, upgrade the flash version that already comes inside. I did and that is why the flash on/off. The one included is the best in results and stability. Also, use the included Internet Navigator. I tested with Firefox, for example, and it is too slow.
Otherwise everything seems, at the moment, to go smooth.
