Im brand new to this site for please be nice 🙂
so yesterday was my 25th birthday and completely clueless of what to have for my birthday me and my dad spotted this tablet in asda so it was bought as my birthday present.
anyways after leaving it on charge I switched it on and registered in onto my wifi at home.
now my first point, when we bought this it had been opened already we asked if it had been previously purchased and returned and they claimed it hasnt but i belive it has as when i was trying to check my email someones else email address was saved on it, anyways does this matter as when i switched it on the tablet was already set up, i didnt have to install anything onto it, should i have needed to?
secondly after the novelty of googling things at random i decided to check out youtube on it. youtube doesnt run videos on it? does it? I mean i canrun videos on my blackberry mobile but not this???
basically im not super smart with technology (i cant write programmes or anything) i know how do some stuff and im wondering if this gadget is worth while? is this firmware thing easy to install??
if i install firmware will i be able to install other apps (angrybirds) as i cant at the moment
Can someone advise me please not sure whether to keep it or not. like the idea of having it but not if i cant get youtube on it, may aswell just use my phone.
Im really sorry if im coming across as thick just need some advice and no where else really to turn.
Thank you so much for reading
Seeing that the device contains an already configured email account definitely means it has already been used and returned. No big deal, unless your dad paid for the full price of a brand new tablet.
You can reset your device, as it comes new by following Arnova FAQ:
See last section Troubleshooting, last Q&A: How can I do a Factory Reset on my tablet?
Installing Youtube isn't that hard but needs some manipulations.
You'll probably get very limited on this tablet as it's quite far from todays standards.
Just as an illustration, here is Angry Birds playing on the Arnova 10 (first generation), which has similar specs to the Arnova 8, but a larger screen... not really playable.
