Hi, I recently installed the BBC iplayer app (and am now regretting it!). I used it briefly today, but it kept freezing until finally the tablet screen just went blank. Now I can't reboot or anything even though I've tried holding the power button for 10 seconds etc. Just black screen. I have the arnova 8 g2 dual touch with custom firmware.

Any advice welcome thankyou! Do I need to use the reset button? If so, do I use a needle or similar to press the reset (I've never had to do this before)?

I don't mind having to reinstall all the firmware, just want my lovely tablet back!!

If I don't get back to any replies straight away it's because I'll be going out for the evening in a short while - I'm not ignoring you :o )))

Best wishes

Claire

Hello Claire,

You can try the Reset option, just put a paperclip in the Reset pinhole and see if the device properly reboots. It probably won't do much, so you will need to reflash the firmware the "hard way".

Go to the Arnova 8 G2 DT custom firmware page and download the zip file, extract the update.img out of the zipfile then flash it with Rockchip flasher following the guide on this page

Good luck and thanks for your donation 2 months ago btw Wink

Cheers.

Thankyou very much for the advice. In fact I pressed reset and everything came back exactly as before, no need to flash the firmware at all! I have uninstalled the iplayer app for now, better safe than sorry!

And the small donation I made a few months ago was absolutely my pleasure. Thanks so much Smile
