Arnova and Archos support Forum

Hi I updated my sons Arnova 8 G2 through the Showa update last year. I'm now trying to update to Icecream sandwich using the rock chip tool. But I'm struggling to get the tablet to go into recovery modI, I'm pressing the reset and power buttons but tablet won't go into recovery mode for laptop to see it. Is it because of previous root I've done or am I doing something else wrong. The laptop is running windows 7

Download a terrminall app from the play store
Open it
Type in it:
su
reboot boot loader
Your tablet will reboot in the flashing mode
Can I download something from Appslib or does it need to be from Google play market as tablet has now been returned to factory settings

if you don`t have root, you can not enter in the flashing mode from the terminal
if you have root, from what i remember there are some terminal apps in AppsLib, just search for "terminal"
If you still don`t manage, read my signature.
Still not managed it. Have put the Sowa update back on tablet to get the google play market and get an installer app. But still can't get tablet into recovery mode for rockchip to see tablet to upload the new firmware
Still got nowhere in flashing the Arnova 8 G2 downloaded the rockchip tool but can't get the tablet to go into flash mode or the rockchip to see the tablet. Have followed instructions exactly as shown but no joy. Any ideas would be welcome

Hi, kenclare.
Connect the tablet to the BB, and then press the reset 1-2 seconds.
After that put the driver for the tablet in flashing mode.
