Arnova 8 G2 dual touch resistive screen... doesn't always pick up the up event on the keyboard... (so then thinks I'm long pressing!)

It's driving me crackers... do others have this same issues and is this just a result of the resistive screen?

Or have I got a dodgy one?

(fyi I've tried stock keyboard, swiftX and Go and all exhibit the same)

It's the first time I hear such behaviour. Is it specific to the virtual keyboard or do you also notice it non other non keyboard related touch input ?

By any chance, could you help us to get a dump your device's firmware, so it helps other users that currently have a bricked device. (the dump procedure requires a computer running Linux)

seems to happen more on the keyboard... but then it requires more touching... also sometimes get it when I'm trying to access a link in browsers etc... (get the what do you want to do... open in new window etc... there, so again thinks I'm long pressing)

I've not got a working linux machine other than a jolios netbook at present...

Joli OS 1.2 is a very interesting project. It is basically an Ubuntu based Linux distro optimized to work in netbooks and other older computer hardware. When you think about it, there is not much choice for netbook users as far as Linux distros are concerned. Joli OS is among the rare few. But is it really the best OS available for netbooks out there? Lets find out.

You have linux 🙂
