ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install for RK3066 and RK3188 -- TWRP/CWM Flash-Tool and root for RK3288
Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !
The lack of Google Play (formerly Android Market) support on the Arnova 7f G3 7 inches Android 4.0 ICS tablet is one the biggest inconvenience, we are happy to bring you a solution. We built a custom firmware to add Google Play/Android Market and full root with read-write access to /system partition.
Arnova 7f G3 custom firmware features
- Clean installation of latest Google Play Store 3.5.15, no more missing apps (Twitter, Facebook...)
- Installation of other Google Apps (Gmail, Play Music, Google Search)
- Full root support with writable /system partition
- Root access is controlled thru SuperSU.apk 0.89 (free version), a cool upgrade to SuperUser.apk by XDA developer Chainfire
- Updated Rockchip loader to latest version (2.20)
Our custom firmware can be installed in two ways. The first method is the easiest and will let you have Google Play running in about 10 minutes. The second method erases all the data stored on the tablet, but uses a safer approach.
Arnova 7f G3 custom firmware install easy procedure
Please note that this flashing method is easy to run but includes the same risks as a regular firmware flash. If it goes wrong for some reason and bricks your tablet, the only way to recover it (if the hardware isn't damaged) will be to use Rockchip Flashing tool.
Please note this firmware install procedure keeps installed apps and data on the tablet.
Step 1. Download and install Arctools from Appslib.
Run Appslib that can be found in the applications on your tablet. While in Appslib, search for "Arctools" application, you should get "ArcTools - Google Play / Android Market & Apps installer" in the list, download, install and run the application. | ![]() |
If you don't have Appslib installed, you'll need to download it from appslib.com servers.
Step 2. Download firmware
In Arctools, go to Firmware tab, select "Arnova 7f G3 custom firmware 0.42 EZ" (or more recent than 0.42 if there… |

does this rooting works with arnova 7b g3?? since both the tablets are just the same in everything..has somebody tested ??
Please don't try it, the Arnova 7b G3 and Arnova 7f G3 have slightly different hardware.
A custom firmware with Google Play and root will be released for the Arnova 7b G3 pretty soon, stay tunedÂ

You need to follow the procedure/video and you won't get these errors.
Cheers.

I am trying to download this custom firmware update (0.42) as per step 2, but each time throughout the process the tablet will loose wi-fi connection (even though it is placed next to the router!). The download freezes (often at 34%) and will then time out.
I have tried this numerous times (turning all other wi-fi devices off) and it keeps failing.
If your Wi-FI connection doesn't work well to download the firmware, you can always download the file from a PC and flash your tablet with Rockchip flasher.

Hi hopefully a quick question.
Â
When you apply the Google Play and Root firmware - what is the tablet recognised as in Google Play?
Go on your computer, http://www.google.com, then go to Play Market, log in whit your google account you will se your linked devices when you browse for apps.
Please try to flash the firmware using the alternative flashing method on the article (uses Rockchip flashing tool).

Ha, finally available!
One question though, do I need to remove the current Google Services Framework I had previously installed (wasn't working correctly anyway, as I couldn't download anything from the Market) or can I proceed directly with the first install procedure?
Cheers!
Hello,
You can try to get your tablet just near your Wi-FI access point to increase download speed else you'll need to download it from your PC and install it copying the file to the root of your storage or using Rockchip flasher.
If you are not using Rockchip flasher to update, better remove any APK related to Google Play you have installed, as they may create conflict with our custom firmware.
Cheers.
