The custom firmware published in post #37 with Google Play Store and root is now supported in Arctools.

It should work as the Easy install procedure for the Arnova 7f G3, I am interested in getting feedback if it runs all fine on the Arnova 7d G3.

Thank you.

I installed the "kasty-arn7dg3-40-42b" a while ago. And being an absolute beginner on android, at looked fine to me. Now that I'm using it and installed lots of software I recognized something really bad.

As you know the 7dG3 has 1 GB ram and 4 GB internal SD but thats not what is shown to me. actually it tells me I have 2GB overall and no primary SD ?

You can't install anything on the 1GB RAM, just like you can't on the pc. The 4GB flash memory is also used for apps storage, the firmware and the recovery files, so there is only 2GB left for the user.

Thank you, I didn't know that. Yet I'm still confused (not based on this installation, more in Android itself, I suppose):
When I look at the apps, there is only 504 MB available to install Apps, and it shows me 593 MB RAM overall.

Shouldn't it be more when the remaining 2GB are treated as primary space?

Part of the RAM is reserved for hardware video decoding. BTW, are you sure it said 593MB overall and not free?

Speaking of 2GB for the mnt storage, it's normal, we explained it earlier in a simillar thread for the ChildPad.

Ah sorry, well that levels around 800 MB. It was the available space for app installations that bothers me, sorry.

I hope also ther will be an custom firmware to have more apps roam to install on the 7D G3. By Arnova you can only install 512mb for apps. I shout be nice to have 1,5GB roam to install apps on the tablet.

Regards,

Jos

Try to factory reset your device, go to Settings / Backup & reset / Factory data reset
