Hey guys
First of all i would like to congrat the developers for the great job theyre doing.
I just managed (as far as im concerned) to flash successfully my brand new Arnova 7c G2 tab.
I followed the instructions on how to root the device with the nano firmware and i am sure to have done it correctly. I got SU installed and Google Play as well as some repositories such as Aptoide.
However im suffering some issues with the device which are starting to get irritating. It might be an easy thing to sort out but after reading several posts in here i was unable to find any hint regarding the following issues:
1. When i set up the regional settings (display language, keyboard language, etc) these are being restored back to factory default english when i power down the tablet an restart it.
The same thing happens with the internet conenction (all access and config data deleted)
2. After rebooting device and having lost all config data (mentioned above), the setup wizard pops up every time. No standard apps on main screen only in the menu window.
3. All installed apps ive installed so far have been lost/deleted by the system after shutdown/reboot.
4. When installing some apps, the tablet tells me that i havent got enough storage space, that i should manage my space, although i got the included 4 Gb Card inside.
I am not sure whether it is a rooting/flashing problem or not. Since i was unable to find any helpful information neither here nor on the net, i would kindly ask you what could i do and try in order to get things working properly.
Can anyone help?
Many thanx in advance

1) Tell step by step how did you flashed your tablet.
2) linked with first point so no answer can be given.
3)linked with the first point.
4)the tablet has around 200 Mb for apps, the 4gb card is not counting as apps for space unless you use the sd version firmware.

Hey globula,
thank you for your reply and help.
You are right the first 3 issues are linked together. I just wanted to point out the issues i am currently having with the nano firmware.
What i did is to flash the tablet with the ADB & Fastboot method.
After setting up the connection correctly i downloaded the 2 necessary files in order to flash the tablet.
a) nano-system.img
b) nano-boot-ext4.img which i renamed to nano-boot.img
At this point i was not sure whether i downloaded the correct boot.img file so i took the most up to date file in the list available.
http://downloads.nanolx.org/index.php?dir=7CG2_NanoCFW_rev14
Then i flashed the tablet with the mentioned files. the tablet booted up correctly and set up the necessary connection data for wifi and so on...
Then the issues mentioned above started to appear.
What did i do wrong? Did i use the wrong flashing files?
Concerning issue #4 do i have to use another firmware file?
Thank you for your support and patience.

Did you do this part
You need to create 3 partitions on your SD-Card:
- partition 1: used as usual external sd-storage, use FAT32 as file-system, choose size wisely yourself*
- partition 2: used as /data, use EXT4/EXT2** as file-system, choose size wisely yourself*
- partition 3: used as /cache, use EXT4/EXT2** as file-system, atleast 250 MB*
?
My advice is to try also the NO SD version and see if you have the same issue, but i am very sure that you skipped the above step.

Hey globula,
thank you for your reply.
Indeed i did not do the mentioned partitions. As far i am concerned i understood that there are 2 ways of flashing/rooting the device.
option 1: flashing/rooting with ADB/Fastboot
option 2: flashing/rooting via SD Card
Obviously i was mistaken. I didnt know that doing the card partition was part of the flashing/rooting procedure.
So is it imperative to create the partitions on the SC card?
"My advice is to try also the NO SD version and see if you have the same issue"
Do you mean to flash the device via ADB/Fastboot with nano-boot-nosd.img before partitioning the SD Card?
Thanx in advance

UPDATE:
After reflashing the device with the nano boot NOSD image, the device is no longer showing any of the symptoms above.
The menu buttons light up again, the standard icons/apps are available in the main screen again, the device doesnt power off on its own and the menu runs smoothly.
It seems that your suggestion sorted my problem out globula
Im gonna check if dowloading apps and installing them onto the SD Card is working now. Can you tell me if nonetheless partitioning the SD card is still required?
Thanx again globula!
Kind regards

the partitioning is required only on the first version that you installed
because you did not had the ext4 partition, the tablet was not able to save any settings/apps because it did not had where, all the stuff was supposed to be saved on the ext4 partition

So basically after using the NOSD version everything should be fine init?
Im testing it ATM intensively and everything seems to be working fine. Sim Card functionality has to be tested at a further moment. GPS seems to work as well, although sum applications such as TOMTOM or Navigon have no option to connect to server..
Nevertheless everything else is working finde. Im really happy. Thank you globula ur my man
Btw i read that version 14 is out for this device? Where can i found more infos about it?
Once again many thankx and keep up the excellent work.
Regards
