i had a little success, i got adb working, recognised my arnova, but then realised i had to put the roms on the sd card, so i unpluged, then took the card out and poped it into my laptop, put the trenano-recovery.img and the nano-boot.img on the sd card along side the other things that were on there, put it back into the arnova, but now when i cmd prompt adb devices, there is nothing in the devices attached list ??

hmm...

of course, you will have to cover the costs of the courier

OK after playing with it for a week whilst on the road (lorry driver) ,like the sim card slot that uses any network card, also micro sd slot fo extra storage.

The google play is def a big bonus to have,also the other bits an bats added are very good.

Tried the gps/sat nav with a few free maps off play store  (as good as tomtom/garmin etc) and they worked remarkably well, gps lock was quick,re routing was also quick and for 39 euros could even have the tom tom truck map on it, (wish i could get it free lol).

so very pleased with the end result, it now makes  a good tablet for my needs on the road.for £70 all in a very versatile 7 inch tablet.

All down to one fella is the upgrades, cheers globula_neagra

Hi all. I have one of these tablets as well due to the GPS on it.

And yes, I can not get it to work at all.

So do not be suprised if I start to bug you all with this one.

I am fairly computerate literate, and used to use old Dos as well.

My main issue is getting ADB to see my device, but as my PC is in need of a clear up, am gonna be getting a new HD soon enough and shall try again from a fresh install.

PS: globula_neagra .. Out of curiosity, how easy is it for you to get Google Play Store and the GPS to work !!!

Don't be suprised if I end up asking how much for you to do it for me ;)

To all posters, I have been reading up on it, and by far this site has given me the best chance and info by far... So thank you all for that.

Here's hoping I can get the tablet to work with me, instead of against me ...

~~~~~ UPDATE ~~~~~~
I can NOT get ADB to see my device, but Fastboot Devices sees it fine enough ??? Weird that one.
Now my main real issue is finding this nano cfw files as every other post out there takes me to a broken webpage with directorys and no damned clue where to get the actual files ???
I can get my tablet into reboot modes, I have got that figured out.. and I can use fastboot !!
So all I really need are the Nano files and whatever else I would need to get this....
Any help would be appreciated !
Yours
Wayne Leiper.
Tum Te Tum ... Cool I was sitting in my wee house, bored.. Decided to do a little research on ADB....
My head started to hurt, so I had a look at your original first post to see if the site's updated !!
I SO WANNA SEND A HUG TO YOU !!!!
So I have hummed and haw'd about just doing it... Still cant get ADB to see my device ??? Really annoyed at that. but from what I was reading, I really done require it to do a boot and system update... So .. I figured .. May as well give it a bash....
I did not bother with the recovery as it was just an experiment... Am in the process of downloading some map tiles for offline browsing, so still have a bit of tweaking to get sorted first.
So to highlight what I have got...
ROOT ACCESS Cool Google Play ( SWEEEEET, Even got it linked as well, so Apps and Calender are synced )
The Nano boot load ... (As that was the one I found) Using the NoSD version the now.
No for the stuff am still puzzling out.. Gonna use a spoiler for this, so I dont flood the screen.
GPS and SD Card
Cant seem to get the GPS to work from the NanoSystem, So I will be looking into that soon. Have also gotten my mobile switched off to try and use that sim for the Tablet ;) Might work, will update this thread if I can.
### Update on first attempt... Inserted card and got mobile data working, tried a few settings to get the GPS to update on it with GPS Toolbox but no joy so far. I will experiment further....
Regarding the partioning of the SD Card. Would it make sense to format the SD card and partitions a certain way.. Example,[spoiler] I use the same programme on my Tablet and my Mobile for Offline Maps, and I wish to sync these 2 against each other ( in the hope I can get the GPS to work on the tablet ) Now, should I use the /data partition for that, or just make sure my whole sd card is formatted correctly and have a map store directory. The only thing I can think of the /data is to keep the data on the SD card .. Resulting in a slower boot up for me ( Class 4 card the now ! )
So can you tell me just briefly the pro's and cons to that..
OK.. Thats about all from me for the now. Thanks again for everyones work on the Arnova 7cG2... I know in time I will get this thing running as sweetly as I can.
Sorry for the partial hijacking of the thread with this, If I need to make a new thread for my own issues I shall.
Many Thanks to you all.
Well not been around for awhile (job restricts me a bit plus busy with family stuff) so i thought i would update a little.
G P S is working absolutely fine, have used several different maps etc and opted for the sygic truck, also cached a few maps off google and use it to track my position when onboard aircraft, (just hold it near window and gps locks on fairly quickly).
Have had fun with other stuff of google play and have acquired a few useful apps in relation to my job.
Everything else has worked great and with the sim card capability it really suits my needs.
Thinking of putting tomtom truck on it and see if it's as good on a 7 inch tablet as it is on a dedicated unit.
My thanks again to globula_neagra for his invaluable help.
will try and be on more now my other life has quietened down a tad.
