I understood the spec when I bought it, and the Custom ROM has made a massive difference to the useability and control you have over the functions.  It still does all the things I want from it, and does them well enough not to justify spending 8 times as much on an iPad.

After trying many of the free navigation aps, I have settled on Route 66, which seems to work better than anything similar.

If you shop around, you can pick them up for under £70 - I bought another 2 for my daughters, who mostly use them for Skype, YouTube, Facebook and listening to music, and an iPad wouldn't do it any better.

Thanks again to globula_neagra ad everyone else who contributed to the development of the Custom ROM - it's just a pity that it didn't come with it out of the box!

they dont work with skype videocall, so they be useless there too

i tried to understand installing a rom, but im afraid its beyond me, when i type C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools\adb devices

it cant find it, also i dont see adb devices in that folder when connected, and yes it was in usb debugging... the fact is we should NOT have to through all this crap to get google play.. and even if i do get google play, it still wont do java properly...

its simple, i had an ipad 3 it was great but apple suck, and there was no usb etc, so please tell WICH  tablet should i buy ?

i wand everything just to work without spending hours getting nowhere and getting a headache, it looks to me that this android is in some way related to scabby old linux.. same "community" all fighting over their ego..too many cooks ??

The bestest way to get gps working tidy is to keep the clock accurate with clock sync, also fasterfix do need go be installered. And gggps status do seem to get a betterer signal. Just gorra make sure agps is switched on to...you sboul pick up uthe signals quite tidy and qui ck then.

tried all what you said, waste of time, gps still dont work !

a custom firmware should improve your experience with the tablet
here you should find a flashplayer working app

well, on my tablet it works :)
i don`t know much aboout the nexus 7 or 10, maybe you should wait for the 3g version to be released
i am sure that if you will flash your tablet, you will make it more usable.

yes, that is recovery mode, but that is the stock one, and it will not help you much in flashing something, you can get out by, either select with the volume butons, to reset, or reset the tablet using the hole from the back.
