I don't know about the Arnova 7c G2 GPS sensibility, but it could be it needs some time to catch the satellites at least for the first time. Try to leave your tablet the a place open to the sky view, for like half an hour.

Hy there , I'm new to this forum.

I have the same problem with Arnova 7c G2 GPS. It's doesn't see any satellites.

I tried to put it near the window for half an hour, but after that I found that it was powered off and it didn't poer up again. I had to reset it (!!).

Any clue ?

I tried all the GPS application I found on Appslib, but none of them found the satellites.

Thanks

Gianni

To be honest I haven't used the GPS function yet on my device.

I will give it a try and will let you know.

I just left the tablet turned on overnight, hoping for the GPS to catch signal, with the tablet outside powered thru USB... it just didn't work.

I am starting to wonder if the GPS is working, and if there is really one in this device.

I will check later with a GPS status tool if I can get any GPS trafic log (NMEA strings...)

Thanks for what you did.

The 7c G2 is advertised to HAVE a GPS. Moreover, when you start a GPS app you should see an icon (like a circle with four dashes around) blinking all the time.

That icon is not WIFI nor 3G nor BT so I guess it's for GPS.

I sent an email to Arnova Support three days ago but still no answer ...

i confirm that the Arnova 7c G2 3G has integrated GPS module and running.

i personally tested with my device and the program Sygic.

tried in the car without 3G sim, and everything was ok.

Are many people using GPS? I have got it to work but only a few times and it takes an age to lock on when it does.

I know its no sat nav but I would have expected it to be better than 10% hit rate.

I think my GPS worked fine on a stock rom, since I have tried the CFWs theres only been a few times when I get a position and it only lasts a coiple of minutes.
Does anybody get any GPS success and use it for satnav use?

I just created a full backup of my mother's 7c 2g (stock). I'll check if there's some noticeable difference that may cause the issue.

Well... GenieWidget (Googles News/Weather stuff) does not even enable GPS sync... I'm now trying with GPS Test and the GPS icon in the notification-ba immediately appears.

Yes, GPS Test just found my location. ... I made some modification to loc_parameter.ini and gps.conf.

gps.conf: http://www.nanolx.org/downloads/gps.conf

loc_parameter.ini: http://www.nanolx.org/downloads/loc_parameter.ini

install with:

adb push gps.conf /system/etc/

adb push loc_parameter.ini /system/etc/

adb reboot

Try it. You may download GPS Test from market and wait about 1 - 3 minute, if it happens to find you location. If it does - then there's something wrong with the app you try to use with GPS, but not with my ROM 😉

The bestest way to get gps working tidy is to keep the clock accurate with clock sync, also fasterfix do need go be installered. And gggps status do seem to get a betterer signal. Just gorra make sure agps is switched on to...you sboul pick up uthe signals quite tidy and qui ck then.
