Thanks Admin & globular_neagra - I've downloaded ES Explorer and found the apns-conf.xml file and read it using ES Note Editor.
Scrolling through there is no mention of Vectone, although I have the green radio button showing on Settings/Wireless & Networks/Mobile Networks/Access Point Names.
Should Vectone be added to that list once I create a New APN, or do I have to somehow add it manually - and if so how?
Many thanks in advance
I have lebara, and i can send and receive sms
the apn`s config contains the general carrier settings for the internet acces, not sms
you should try another rom, or a factory reset of the device.
Had fun and games with adb getting eror: device not found so went through the instal procedure over and again and checking on help forums. Device was found with fastboot but adb but now got adb to recognise device and did the push but get :
failed to copy 'apns-conf.xml' to '/system/etc//apns-conf.xml': Read-only file system
and the same with spn-conf.xml. Any ideas ?
Many thanks in advance
EDIT : Got the answer after trial & errors from other sites.
adb push apns-conf.xml /system/etc/
adb push spn-conf.xml /system/etc/
now to see if texting works ....
Tried the messaging service but got "Error Code : 21"
From another web site it seems that this means:
"Short message transfer rejected" This cause indicates that the equipment sending this cause does not wish to accept this short message, although it could have accepted the short message since the equipment sending this cause is neither busy nor incompatible.
First, be sure that your device is connecte, check this by using the command
adb devices if you get a positive answer, googlefor qtadb and use it to copy the files in the desired location
Thanks globular_neagra .
In answer, I do get a positive response back from adb devices - at first I was getting a device not found message and when I went through the adb instal procedure with Super One Click then adb responded to adb devices by giving me the serial number back.
I have had no joy trying to instal Qtadb - when I start it it opens with an error message "there was an error checking for updates" and then clicking on Apps gives another error message saying it could not find aapt. Despite following the error instruction of downloading and putting in the same dir as adb and clicking refresh (which contradicts the FAQ telling me to place it to /sdk/tools) it still returns the same error message.
Anyhow, I did install Qtadb by trying :
adb push ./"qtadb.apk" ./system/app
and this worked for installing Qtadb and when I open this app I select "Start service" then I open Messaging but I still get an Error code:21 each time I attempt to send a text message.
Cannot understand what is wrong
i can help you via team viewer if you want.
