I`m on now if you still need help
today i had the first fail in restoring a man device
So, people when you start to expriment something, first enable usb debugging at least
thanks a lot, it's still working great and googlemarket/appmarket works without any problems. Also flash player works great, it's a new feeling 😉
Respect for the great work!

Could not resist it - bought a faulty 7C G2 from ebay for twenty quid.
It arrived in the box, there was a small hand written label in the box, and upon it was written 'Line on Screen'. My guess is that it has a line on the screen and was therefore returned, and probably left to die.
Had it on charge for 5 hours, battery nice and warm, charger slightly warm while charging. I reckon it has taken a charge. Can't get any lights on. It may be knackered but I want to be sure. Have SDK etc and know how to use adb and fastboot, and have drivers installed. Tried plugging into USB, then pressing power and down vol at the same time to try to boot into recovery. No usb sound, and no lights come on. What else might I try?
if the device does not enter in fastboot mode is ded
you can disamble it and see what is inside 🙂
I have just been given a 7c G2, I would really like to get hold of the Google Play market as the AppsLib whilst good, doesn't offer what I want to do with it (which is essentially using Flash Player to catch up on TV)
I am quite tech savvy, however have never got into flashing devices and wouldn't really know where to start, so wondered if you could help out?
have your the tutorials that are one the forum ?
I took a look at the tutorials and they looked very confusing, I have also watched various videos and got quite confused by it all, I download ArcTools but it wont install the Google Play and other apps because it doesn't have root, in which I have been told requires a flash of the drive.
you can gain root acces by using superoneclick
you just need to enable usb debugging and install the usb drivers
the tutorials are simple
download java sdk and install it
download android sdk and install it (preferable in the c:\android)
enable usb debugging from the tablet
connect the tablet to the pc
download usb drivers and install them
use adb and adress the command :
adb devices (to check if you arnova is connected, if you don`t have a result, it means that you did non installed the usb drivers)
adb reboot bootloader (this will get your tablet in fastboot mode)
use fastboot and adress the commands:
fastboot devices (this command will check if your arnova is in fastboot mode)
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery filename/and/exact/path
fastboot continue (this command resumes the boot process)
this is what you need to flash my rom
if you want to flash sethialpha`s rom you need to adress also this commands:
fastboot flash system filename/and/exact/path
fastboot flash boot filename/and/exact/path
and you should have a new rom
I don`t know what is confusing in the tutorials since others managed to install custom firmwares using them
I am just currently worried about bricking the device, there are obviously risks involved and I am only really doing it to get access to the Google Play store to download Flash Player and some of the official apps.
Just out of interest, if I were to brick my device would it be easy to reformat it back to default?
Also, could you link me to the appropriate tutorials so I can then start the process?
yes it is easy, as long is not a hardware fault.
USB DRIVERS :
Remeber to enable the usb debugging from the tablet
You can also use the tutorial from post number 28, it is the same 🙂
