thank you for your answer jameslewisuk
I tried to follow your tutorial but I think I'm missing components (SDK, fastboot,....) or I do not put them in the right place.
When I run the command lines it nothing happens.
I would need a more detailed tutorial from AZ : programs to download, install or how and in what order, ....
if someone could make a topic just for this, it would be very nice.
I searched the internet without successÂ

To install fastboot (and adb) have a look at this video

I need to know a little detail please
Â
you say "
Start device as normal, install arctools 0.61 – run arctools and choose *second* option (default apps + market 3.4.4) – download and install. DON'T reboot device at this point!
Â
adb pull /system/app/StartupWizard.apk
adb pull /system/app/Wizard.apk
adb shell
rm /system/app/*Wizard*
rm /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/*
mkdir /mnt/sdcard/cache
exit
adb push SetupWizard.apk /system/app/"
question is? once arctools download and installed default apps etc, dont reboot?
how do you do the adb bits as as a newbie to this stuff I thought you had to shut down and reboot fastboot to do the adb stuff or is shuting down and starting fastboot not the same as reboot???????????
Â
Thanks

From first view I'd say this is just for translation. Will compile for you either way.

Congratulations Setialpha, I can't wait to try this and to Jameslewisuk for the video as I am completely new to this area of ADB, SDK etc so this will be invaluable.
Just a quick question Setialpha, at the start you say, "we need 3G as kickstarter ...."Â
Â
Please excuse the dumb question - I am waiting for a Vectone SIM card to arrive for this tablet; so does this mean I won't be able to do this ROM update until I have a 3g SIM card because the download & install of the >2 MB app must be done by 3g and NOT Wifi ?Â
Â
Thanks, once again for all the great work !

Both files (nano-boot.img and stock-system.img) should go in the same directory as flashboot

then type these commands, again without quotes
"fastboot erase boot"
"fastboot erase flash" Â Â Â SORRY THIS SHOULD BE "fastboot erase system"
"fastboot flash boot nano-boot.img"
"fastboot flash system stock-system.img"
"fastboot -w" Â Optional to reset to factory settings
"fastboot reboot"
Â
Then your device should boot up in to the new firmware.
