Page 1 [Post 1] by Setialpha gives a step-by-step instruction guide and all the downloads available.Â
For ease, once you have installed Adb [see one of many tutorials like ] this is what you do :
Â
1/. Download nano-system.img and the proper nano-boot/trenano-recovery.img (as per Page 1 Post 1)
2/. rename the downloaded NanoBoot to: nano-boot.img
3/. rename the downloaded TreNanoRecovery to: trenano-recovery.img
Â
4/. Connect tablet (switched off) to your PC using USB cable and put it into fastboot mode (shutdown and start by pressing power+lower-volume).
Â
5/. Using WinXP do Start/Run/adb
6/. type adb devices
Â
You should see something like "ARNOVA-53f4d5zz12536666" [this is just an example]
If your device is not listed then do not proceed. Try rebooting your PC and start again, or uninstall and reinstall Adb but if it does not list your device it is pointless going forward because your tablet is not connected to Adb.
Get this stage sorted out before proceeding.
Â
7/. Asssuming your device was listed by Adb, then type fastboot flash recovery trenano-recovery.imgÂ
8/ then type fastboot flash boot nano-boot.img
9/. then type fastboot -w erase system
10/. then type fastboot flash system nano-system.img
11/. then type fastboot continue
Â
12/. Wait until the tablet reboots - this may be a couple of minutes ... but wait
Â
13/. Once tablet has booted up (you should see a different splash screen), on the tablet go to Settings > Accounts & Sync
- enable both options for backgrounddata
- add account
- open market and accept TOS
14/. That's it - hope this helps !
Â

Thanks...for your reply. Just want to thank all those involved in developing the firmware...although I am a novice when it comes to installing software/firmwares in mobile devices...the steps mentioned made it quite easy. Thanks once again....keep up the good work.

Hi all,
I had to unbrick my 7c G2 so I installed setiaplha's firmware.
But I have the problem with Google Play
When I enter Accounts & Synch and try to add an account, it takes me to creation of an Exchange account so I cannot pick a Google account. Both synchronization options are checked.
When I enter Play Store, it asks me whether I want to create an account. I choose Yes and it exits.
What can I do with this, would it help if I install another Market from ArcTools? If yes, which one?
Best regards.

No, lol, stop installing market from arctools, it not designed for for 7c g2
Have you tried not to create a new account and use the one that you have ?

2013/06/25

OK, I got rid of ArcTools. I could not create any Google account nor connect to existing one because when I went into Account / Sync and tapped New Account it takes me directly into connecting the Exchange account.
Eventually I found the solution - I wiped the user data.
Thanks again

The short story is my 7cG2 running nano rev14 is stuck without an unlock slider on the opening screen, asking for a sim card which it won't recognize as it is also in airplane mode.
How it got there is as follows;
I have 2 7cG2's the other is running glob_V3. I will call them V3 and rev14.
Today I used clockwork mod to install a backup on V3 for which I could not remember the rom. It was rev14 and worked properly. I then successfully restored the V3 tablet back to V3.
I then factory reset the rev14 tablet using settings/privacy. Next I used the same rev14 backup installed earlier on the V3 tablet to restore the rev14 tablet as I do not have a newer backup.
It would not open without a sim card (no unlock slider) the unlock slider appeared after inserting sim card, and the home button did nothing. I restored the backup again with the same result.
I then used clockwork mod as follows; factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, format system, advanced restore system only from an earlier backup of rev14. I presume that backup must have been in airplane mode, and that's how I got to where I am now.
The tablet will go into safe mode. I am writing this from the beach in a Malawian village, access to a PC would be difficult

use fastboot
with the command
fastboot -w
it should bring the device to stock
option 2
remove the sim ?

2012/03/27

Hi Globula,
I presume fastboot needs a PC and adb. The problem is that a download speed of 30Mb per hour is really good. To install the programs on a PC would take several days, impractical at an internet cafe.
The problem started when the first restore would not show an unlock slider without
sim card. Now, as is normal I think, if the 7cG2 is rebooted in airplane mode with or without a sim card in, it will not recognize it. Airplane mode needs to be turned off, followed by reboot. Long press power button only offers the power off button for me.
The tablet is running, my anti virus programs (3) appear in the notification bar, but I can't access them remotely because of airplane mode!
Oh dear, an awful amount of work to type fastboot -w!

http://globula.arctablet.com/Arnova%20Tools/platform-tools.rar
Here is adb and fastboot, tough, other things are still to be done, like installing the pc drivers.
The problem appears because you restored over and over and over without formating the system, and in this way you kept some previous settings that where not overwritten.

Hi Globula,
Thanks for the download link, and for your quick replies.
I have now disconnected the battery for the night, I will see what happens!
I did a separate system format using clockwork mod before the last advanced system only restore, tablet behaviour did not change except that the backup I chose presumably had airplane mode on. I often use it to save battery.
New question. Please re-post if it is in the wrong place.
I intend install DC2SD.
I will partition the new 8Gb class 10 sd card Ext4 using clocwork mod.
Can I install by copying the new boot and recovery files into an existing backup?
Could I use DC2SD on your Glob_V3 rom, how would I install recovery. Copying into an existing backup?
Would my old backups still work?
Can I update clockwork mod (the lastest version has smaller backups). Or could I do it myself, by saving 1 copy and deleting all others from the same rom, of boot, recovery, and system, replacing if I want to restore a specific backup?

"I will partition the new 8Gb class 10 sd card Ext4 using clocwork mod"
You should use the programs which are mentioned somewhere here on the forum to format the DC2SD (or google and see what is the best way)
"Can I install by copying the new boot and recovery files into an existing backup?"
No
"Could I use DC2SD on your Glob_V3 rom"
Yes if you use the boot.img from the DC2SD
Also you need to use the DC2SD recovery otherwise the recovery will not work.
"Copying into an existing backup?
Would my old backups still work?"
You can not copy/remove/add nothing in the back-ups or they will become unusable.
"Would my old backups still work?"
No
"Can I update clockwork mod (the lastest version has smaller backups)"
If you know how to compile a CWM recovery, yes.
From what i remember, you are not limited to restore a specific back-up, you can choose the one that you want, you can try and rename them to keep a better track of which is which (rename one and do a test to see if it restores correctly after you rename it)
A mention
You cannot:
-use the boot.img DC2SD and the recovery.img NOSD
-use the DC2SD recovery.img and boot.img NOSD

Just tried myself to recompile the cwm and the result was 5.2 MB, and the maximum flashable size is 5MB
