Not yet, the registration process stops when the account is added, says it can't establish a reliable connection. It's currently under investigation...

I found this post on a google forum, maybe it will help?

A simple search in google and hundreds of thousands of results pop up for the "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server" error.

This is the real solution for the connection problem in the android system. I've also wasn't able to correct it with the YouTube app neither I wanted to reset my phone.

* THE PROBLEM:

When one syncs a google account in android the service provider info is stored in /data/data
/com.android.providers.settings/ but when you clear the cache of the Google Apps in order to add a different account it does not update the db in that path.

* THE SOLUTION:

In order to do it manualy one must have root previledges. Is it legal? Well maybe not but surely we have the right to have access to all the phones hd content since we have paid for it (i guess that google does not give root access to the phone in order to protect it from user mistakes but this time the mistake is theirs).

- tools:

* search for "Universal Androot" which is a simple app which the apk could be found by a simple google search.

(check this video out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reelf3pP6qM)

* astro file (to run the Universal Androot apk)

* commandbot

updating the DB:

1) Download UniversalAndroot .apk
2) Browse in Astro to the downloads folder
3) Open the .apk with the app launcher
4) Install Universal Androot
5) Run Universal Androot and root the Android system (you can un-root the device afterwards)
6) Open commandbot and use local and choose a nickname and press enter
7) enter the following command in the shell: su

- now it will ask you if you allow the root access say you do!

8) then insert the following command: rm -r /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/

9) reboot your phone

now you will be able to sync your new gmail account easily!

Ref my above post, if you delete data/data/com.android.providers.settings/ and reboot then the Arnova welcome/setup wizard runs and recreates the folder and files in data/data/com.android.providers.settings/

I am guessing that when you have the google apps installed, it normally runs the google "welcome" to your device set up screen which would create a different version of the data/data/com.android.providers.settings/  folder?  It might be conflicting?

Perhaps the Arnova welcome/setup wizard is setting it up with parameters which aren't valid for google to add an account?  Maybe adding google apps, then deleting the arnova setup wizard and the data/data/com.android.providers.settings/  folder and letting the google set up wizard create it, that might work?  Just some observations anyway...

I can't try right now as I just bricked my device again so will have to fastboot and reflash it again later 😀

Anyone else want to give it a go and see if they can get a google account to add to their device?

You could just use root explorer app to delete the folder, might be easier. I am trying my earlier suggestion now, might work!

No, it didn't work, the google "welcome to android" set up wizard force closes when the device boots up.
Something is re-creating the  data/data/com.android.providers.settings/  folder though each time it boots.

Nice, I have been after a stock rom with working wifi, I keep having to fix the wifi after I flash the one I have 😉

The Nano CFW rev06 rom still doesn't seem to work for adding a google account, no idea why, even with Arctools after it all installs.  Have you managed to get a google account to add on to device?

Just as admin said: there are problems we need to figure out.

For me it didn't work because google check-in didn't accept my tablet's MAC address. For admin it worked.

could it be that google market is blocking market...by mac address of the device.. maybe to get access to google market a device manufacturer has to submit Mac addresses to Google for its devices.... just a thought...

Nope. Each device as a different MAC address. This is not manufacturer-related.

Installed this stock rom with the boot image prep'd for arc tools, ran arctools, market appears.

Still can't add my google account to sign in to market....

Maybe it is blocked by MAC address as handsomejackuk suggests?

Nope. It complains about a BAD Mac Address, not about "not authorized". Again: Mac Address is different for *each* device.

Each PC, PMP, SmartPhone, Router, Tablet has a different one. It's impossible to block a whole series of devices like 7c g2 unless knowing *each* device' Mac Adress.

Got it working, though now getting error not enough space (which is wrong).

As what I did is a bit tricky I'll post it once I got it fully working.

wot i was saying is they are allowing a range of addresses for devices that are allowed access.. anything else is not allowed market access... so permitted manufacturers... submit their range of addresses to g***le....
