has anyone tried running http://galaxyics.com/ ? you might have flash it manually because it's for the samsung ace, which is apparently msm7x27 . going to try it in a couple of days..

globula: you may want to try running adb logcat while it boots -- if it shows anything there's a good chance it can be made to work. Do you get to the "android" logo screen?

daniel: i thought so too, but arnovatech.com says the c7g2 is msm7227 based. anyway they should be compatible. they definitely have the same instruction set and gfx coprocessor. only major difference is screen resolution but that should be easy to fix..

i tried with daniel to flash the rom, we tried first with the ace.zip and it installed ok, with no erorrs but the problem i think it is the fact that the rom is not rooted, i say this because the result was

C:\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb logcat
- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -

after that we tried with cm7, with a build from 2.3.7

http://narod.ru/disk/31653998001/update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-GalaxyAce-KANG-signed.zip.html

and the result was

http://www.picz.ro/pictures/b7be4407802480f6c2c0198c89798900.jpg

Now i will want to try to put the ace.zip in the android emulator the see if i can make`it rootable and then with a recovery to obtain a rooted back-up.

I dont know if this can be done, because i`m new to the android area.

i did also a back up with the recovery tool and the data obained looks like this.

http://www.picz.ro/pictures/f2c454f2c49147af6e9b7702417bdaed.jpg

It`s very strange because the data file has 80 mB, and the system only 5kB

Could the data be actually the system ?

C:\unyaffs_files>unyaffs C:\unyaffs_files\data.yaffs2.img
cygwin warning:
  MS-DOS style path detected: C:\unyaffs_files\data.yaffs2.img

This is the content of the data.yaffs2.img obtained by instaling the ace on my arnova and after that using recovery mode to do a back up.

For me it looks a little bit like the system.img from arnova, though are many diferences

i did some research and zte blade was ported to cm9

here is the topic http://android.modaco.com/topic/351670-ics-cm9-coldfusion-for-the-zte-blade-rom-updated-2302/

Also htc wildfire s was ported to cm7 and cm9

These devices have similar specs to arnova 7c g2

Arnova 7c g2 has a 7627 qualcomm processor

Far ?

Considering that galaxy ace was not fully ported on cm9, it will take a wile, and even so we are not 100 percent sure that we will be able to port`it
