Hi, I guess. This is my first post.So here goes.

Background aside,on the second day of usage, the screen suddenly went black.I restarted. Here's the strange part:The logo Arnova appears during the startup, but then again the screen goes black.I mean if the display is gone, the logo wouldn't appear either!I even tried resetting(using the reset button),still problem persists. The screen is just black.

Another thing: If I guess where the lock thing is, slide it and then guess where buttons like "return" are and tap,I can hear the sound associated with those buttons.I can hear the faint crackle when I lock the device. But the display is black.

I guess reflashing is the only option. But there's a problem here too.I searched how to enter the recovery/flashing mode and couldn't quite find how.I guessed that it is holding the reset the button and then join it with holding the power button until the Arnova logo appears.(The only 2 external buttons are reset and power so Idk how else I would enter flashing mode.)

Anyway, After the logo appears,I can briefly-VERY BRIEFLY-like a fraction-of-a-second-briefly I can see an upright android logo and something around it, and then this is replaced by an android lying on its back, front "abdomen" open, and a red triangle with an exclamation mark. Thus I can't enter flashing mode either.Idk what to do.

Note:If the method of entering the flashing mode is different,I'll be very happy to know and this problem might just get solved there...might...

Any help appreciated...

You got in the recovery mode, for reflashing follow this tutorial:

http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/flashing-arnova-g2-rockchip-2918-rockchip-flashing-tool/

The process is the same aas for the Childpad and the 7b G2.

@exelletor (and others)

I'm sorry I forgot to mention this. You see , the reason that I doubted that I entered recovery mode, is the fact that the tablet isn't being detected by any of my 2 computers: one desktop with win 7 64 bit and one laptop with win 7 32 bit.Other than that there was that change in picture, but this was the main reason.

I had written to the technical staff, got no response, then resolved to reflash it myself. In fact, I had already read the tutorial, and was gonna reflash it, but it wouldn't get detected in this "mode".(I'd like to point out that it's not mentioned in the tutorial how to get into recovery mode on the 7b g3).And so I posted here.So the icon I described is the symbol of recovery mode?

P.S ty for the quick reply bro

Perhaps you know this, but the feeling I have to see a tablet that looks so good in such a condition, that too after less than 2 days of use ....is pretty....you know..Smile

You were in the wrong recovery mode(there are two of them Wink).

To get in the right one:

insert a paperclip in the Reset pinhole of the tablet and press the Power button

The tablet screen should go/stay black, no Arnova logo or icons on it.

Screen just stays black? You mean I just press the reset button and then press the power button?Well if I do so the screen remains black but if I connect to the PC, the tablet just restarts Confused

I tried combinations of various lengths of time pressing these buttons. As I mentioned before,if I long press the reset + power key I go into that "other" recovery mode.If I just press them and not hold them(I tried both together as well as separately),the screen remains black, but when I connect to the PC, it restarts, and I can see the ARNOVA logo and then it again goes black.

P.S,after it restarted(the tablet, that is),while it was connected to the PC,the computer recognized it and automatically installed its driver, but the Rockchip batch tool didn't detect it and it didn't ask me to show it where the driver was.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the usb cable needs to be already connected when you click on reset and power.

Not working.I press reset and power while connected by USB, and that same red-triangle icon comes (the tablet starts, the ARNOVA logo appears, then this comes.)Frown

edit:If I leave the tablet like this, after some time the tablet restarts and then goes into the black screen.

Did you do it quickly? There can really be just half a second between the presses. Otherwise, I would suggest you open the device manager on your pc, insert a paperclip in the reset hole and keep the reset button clicked in for like 5 seconds and see whether there appeared an unknown device in the device manager.

If nothing works, just return it to the shop from which you bought it...

You know what dude thank you so much.As soon as I pressed reset when the tablet was connected there was the unknown driver in control panel.Opened it, installed the driver, device got detected in the flasher tool and I flashed it and it's now on.

Laugh

But you see I don't have the liberty of returning it to the shop I bought it from.I bought it on one of the airport shops on the way to India from Abu Dhabi (It's in the UAE).I'll have to fly all the way there just to return it Laugh

but I guess all's well that ends well

ty again man I owe you

I'll flash the custom firmware sometime - the one with the google play and root and stuff. Peace bro
