I tried several things, including following the advice on a video on youtube, holding the reset and power button at the same time for several seconds...didn't work. Then I tried just pressing reset, en briefly pushing the power button...still nothing. So if anyone could help me, I'd be very grateful 🙂

I suppose you are refering to the Rockchip flashing procedure ?

For the Arnova 7b G2, you need to press the reset pinhole with a paperclip, hold it then push the power button for a few seconds, release power button then stop pressing reset. The tablet screen should turn black and you should be good to go on Rockchip Batch Tool.

It worked! Thank you so much for your help. It's also a good idea to check the computer explorer window when doing this, so you can see the pc spots an unidentified device. Thanks again! I'm now the proud owner of a modified arnova Laugh

Oh darn...I don't have any sound anymore, which is a real bummer, the volume is up to maximum according to the settings...but still, not a beep...

Which Arnova 7b G2 model you have (capacitive or resistive Dual Touch) ?

Which firmware have you flashed on it ?

Hi,

Did anyone find any success when the original "reset button in then power button in for a couple of seconds" didn't work?

I'm having the same problem with my nephews G2.

Also, is it a worry that the normal off screen has a purple tinge to it? The G2 won't turn on at all so that is why I'm trying to flash it and put the firmware back on.

Thanks,

Adam

The purple tinge is a sign of a bumped screen.
You can get in the the flashing mode also by using adb or a terminal app from google play
adb reboot bootloader
this is the command that will get the tablet in flashing mode.

Thank you for replying back.

Will a bumped screen still display or does the screen and/or connections need replaced?

Do you know the name of any terminal app's that I can use without the use of the tablet as it is not booting?

If the tablet is not booting the only way that remains to get the tablet in the flashing mode, is the combination of keys pressed
From what i know on the 7b g2 is
-insert a paper clip in the reset pinhole
-while you keep the pinhole pressed, press also the power button.
-while you keep them both pressed, connect the tablet to the usb cable

It depends on situation, the screen may function at a certain value, or may not function at all.

Thanks for the steps. That is a new one for me but it hasn't worked like the rest of them. It looks like I'll have to admit defeat and accept that the tablet is completely 'bricked'.
